Songs on Repeat

I wonder if I'm the only one who does this. Ever since I was a kid, I would listen to one song over and over again on repeat. I think it's because back then it took so many hours to download a single song, I had to make do with what few songs I had. But even when we got high speed internet in high school, I maintained the habit to the point where friends would make fun of me for it. I still do it to this day, though.

So does anyone else find themselves listening to the same track over and over again? And, if so, what's your current obsession?

Right now I've been listening to "Stellar" by Incubus for days. Before that was "6 Underground" by Sneaker Pimps.

I used to be like that in the (fairly recent) past. I've been trying to force myself out of it because I desire to expand and diversify my tastes.

I got the same habit thanks to the very same reasons.

I've been repeating 天界のペルソナ by Shizuka a lot nowadays. It's been raining cats and dogs where I live, the perfect atmosphere for such kind of music. There are multiple versions of the song - the ones I'm currently listening to the most are these:

This is on repeat for me, and has been for the past few weeks lol. It's so good!

I don't find myself playing these songs on repeat, as in playing the same song constantly, but I do find that I have a selection of songs I tend to go back to and repeat occasionally. Most, if not all of these songs are from the Madoka Magica soundtrack. The top tracks of this selection might be 'Credens Justitiam' and 'Something, everything is wrong'.

There's more than these, of course, but these two tracks are the ones I remember most. I used to have 'Something, everything is wrong' on loop while I was studying...

Today I heard "Change" by Deftones for the first time while watching American Dad. It played during the episode where Stan gives up on religion and Roger convinces him to go on an alcohol-fueled spree of crime and debauchery. And now I've listened to it about a dozen times already

For the entirety of 2022, have been trapped listening to JUST one band (okay yeah I do listen to other bands but not as much as these guys), Major Parkinson. I've been mostly listening to their album Valesa pt. 1 over and over again, especially the tracks after "Jonah" because they all follow each other very well. Their songs are just so pleasing to my senses.

This is the song I usually start with, and maybe the one I listen to the most.

I recently started watching Doom Patrol, and this song was in the first episode so now I'm listening to it all day.

Actually, a lot of great songs were in the first season, like "Lazarus" by David Bowie.

Listening to songs over and over again is the general way I listen to music, because I make monthly lists of music I'm adding to my Big Playlist and then put those monthly lists on repeat. Haven't added music this month yet, but I've been repeating this one the most in December:
