note: I tried posting this in the welcome/greeting board but somehow the 'post to' dropdown won't let me choose it, so if this is in the wrong place please help lol thanks :,)

note2: also how do you set custom fonts here? I tried using [font] but doesn't seem to work  :tnt:

hello fellow amazing people of the internet!

My name is Elsie, and I've recently started my neocities (about a month ago) because I was bored, but now I've fully in the indie web rabbit hole (lol).

I'm all very new to this web crafting and coding stuff, but I really like being on the indieweb and being able to craft my own space, especially now social media's enjoyment for me is rapidly deteriorating because of... a variety of reasons.

I'm looking forward to exploring this forum!

Hey Elsie! Great to meet you! :seal:

I've just checked out your website—it looks really lovely! I'm a fan of the colour scheme, and I love that you've popped your own playlist there in the sidebar. All in all, it's a really wonderful little corner of the internet you've built for yourself! I can't wait to see how it grows, and I'll pop your button on my Doodahs page the next time I update my site :cheesy:

What do you do for fun besides webmastery? Also, can I just say: it's nice to meet someone else based in the UK! I feel like we're almost underrepresented here in my experience :ok:

note2: also how do you set custom fonts here? I tried using [font] but doesn't seem to work  :tnt:
In the text editor where you write your reply, there's a toolbar at the top. Three tabs along from the left, there's a blue letter A. If you click on that, it will bring up a list of fonts. Click on one and it'll pop something in the message that looks a bit like this:
Code
[font=Comic Sans MS]Write your forum message here![/font]
Also, if you go to your profile and click on "Look and Layout" in the "Settings and Profile" menu, there's an option at the bottom that allows you to set the default font for your forum messages. Let me know if you'd like me to clarify anything!

also hey, fellow brit! Well technically I'm not there right now lol, but my uni is in the UK

Thank you so much! :loved: The font is Beyond Wonderland by Christopher Hansen. I do love a good font, and this one is one that I've used in a number of creative projects since roughly 2018 or so!

Nice! I really do wish I had the patience to learn to draw. It must be absolutely wonderful to be able to make things for your friends—one of my D&D players does a lot of art for our campaigns and I'm just bowled over every time. I noticed you play Stardew Valley and Minecraft, both of which are great  I've not heard of Reverse 1999, although I've reason to believe it was a very good year  What's it about?
And as for me, I've been playing a fair bit of Fields of Mistria lately! It's very much like Stardew, but I honestly prefer it: there are some really useful quality of life additions, and it's got more of a central "quest" tying everything together. Plus there's magic! :wizard: I also love The Elder Scrolls, Civilization V, World of Warcraft (though I haven't been able to get it working on my Linux yet), and a whole heap of other stuff! Besides that, I spend a lot of time playing (and running) D&D and acting when I can!

Oooo I have an artist friend who also loves doing D&D. Don't think he's on the indie web tho but maybe you've came across him before, who knows?

OH GOD ok okok (ill try not to ramble for too long) SO basically it's a gacha game (HEAR ME OUT) that's very story/character heavy and has gorgeous art. The story is based on an alternative earth where a mysterious phenomenon called "the storm" is causing time skips throughout the years in the 20th century (the first 'storm' occurred on the last day of 1999, hence the name of the game). Whoever experiences the storm will get 'reversed' (as far as we know it just means erased from existence). The people on earth are also divided into two species: arcanist and humans (basically just magic people and non-magic people). And our main character, Vertin (she's British btw!), has some qualities that made her resistant to being reversed. Her suitcase (which is actually a large space inside) is one of few places that is also storm resistant. So basically the story just comes down to Vertin and the group she's working for (which is actually very sketchy) trying to save people and solve the storm. Also there's cult and stuff.

Aside from the plot what I love about the game is also it's cultural rep, which, though aren't perfect, is definitely better than most other mainstream games. Like each character has a cultural/historical reference behind them and their ethnicity is also reflected in their voices so you get accents and stuff!

Okay sorry for the ramble, I just love this game sm. TLDR; Earth AU where an unknown phenomenon is messing with the timeline and our BRITISH main character and a bunch of magic people travel around the world to solve it. If that sounds like your cup of tea you can check out one of their trailers on yt! they're all quite awesome but ill link the main one here.

That honestly sounds great! i kinda prefer it more when games have a centered plotline so that sounds perfect I'll definitely look it up!
