I have like two different at least world building projects. One a sci fi universe one, but another a sort of anthropomorphic characters but the characters and the world itself made from odd materials. I call this project "Material Plane"
The basic notes thus far.
Odd materials/texture anthropomorphic beings, sleep in vessels that match what they are made of. Container body for those who can't keep their shape? Like for Soda, she's had a glass body make. With the cap as a belly button.
Messing with someones rest vessel considered taboo, and it's only polite to share a rest vessel when invited.
Very rare for vessels to get old, so older ones in museums are considered pretty important.
special vessels made out of more precious materials or made to look more pretty then functional.
Whole world made out of interesting materials? Pool noodle trees, glitter sand. That kind of thing.
The species generally enjoying closed in places.
They don't need to eat. Their way of getting energy is resting in their vessel. Though vampire types can get stronger feeding on another beings materials.
No one wears full on clothes. But they will wear various accessories. Some acting like a form of hair. Most often, it's pure decoration
Gender is chosen by the individual.
If a vessel gets ruined somehow, or they wish to have a bigger home even, they can get a new one. Though most tend to be very attached to their homes and have trouble moving onto new ones.
They terraforming with objects gained from the oceans/fallen from space, or dug up. This is how they've gotten food containers though they don't eat food.
I'll get into some characters soon. But would love to hear thoughts.
