Looking for people to chat to about my latest fixation - Lego!

Here are a few questions to get this topic started, as well as my personal answers.

  • What was your first exposure to/memory of Lego?
  • Do you collect Lego sets?
  • When you finish building, do you like to display it, or take it apart to make it again later?
  • Are you more of a freehand builder, or an instruction booklet bookworm?
  • Favorite Lego set at the moment?

  • What was your first exposure to/memory of Lego?

I remember begging my parents for this set that featured a minifigure with a hinged head, a rock body, and several crystalline features, if anyone remembers the name of this set I'd love to know it

  • Do you collect Lego sets?

Yes, so far I have three sets from the dollar store, four animal crossing sets, and two of the 3-in-1s

  • When you finish building, do you like to display it, or take it apart to make it again later?

I love tearing apart my creations and remaking them! It soothes me.

  • Are you more of a freehand builder, or an instruction booklet bookworm?

Booklet bookworm, I don't know how freehanders do it.

  • Favorite Lego set at the moment?

My floral typewriter! First and favorite.

   1. What was your first exposure to/memory of Lego?

   2. Do you collect Lego sets?

   3. When you finish building, do you like to display it, or take it apart to make it again later?

   4. Are you more of a freehand builder, or an instruction booklet bookworm?

   5. Favorite Lego set at the moment?

My answers:
1. My first memory of lego was probably the lego sets you could buy off stores like walmart, like a huge box with just random blocks in it. But my REAL FIRST MEMORY and why i fell in love with it, was lego star wars.

I was obsessed with star wars as a kid (still lowkey am) and i was obsessed with lego. My brother came home with a pirated version of lego star wars on the playstation 2 (we were poor/still are, the only way we could play games was literal piracy, please dont judge.)

That game was responsible for one of the happiest days of my life. I loved it so Much and i still do play it with friends when we're bored.

2. As a kid i always wanted lego sets, but again, not much money left for that kind of stuff. But my dad would buy me once in a while these little lego star wars sets, where 1 character would be and a little ship or a mini base.

But one day, around 2011, my parents actually put some money aside for me, and got me the X-wing starfighter set.

I remember crying so loud out of joy that day, i always wanted that one especially, because it had these little beams it could shoot off, and i was hella into that kind of stuff as a kid. Everything that could "shoot" was ultimately dope for me.

I sucked at building it but my older brother and i managed to build it within i think 1.5 days.

But today? Not so much anymore. I bought Boba Fett's helmet set, like 2 years ago, and a mini mandalorian set last year. I still do build lego once in a while, but really not "active". More like once a year.

3. Back then with the little sets, i liked to destroy them in roleplays, because they were fairly easy to build, the X fighter tho i displayed, i was too scared to lose any parts, since my parents wouldve killed me.

4. Instruction bookworm definetly, i want to build it the way its meant to be, of course i always put some extra stuff to it, but i preferred the meant-to-build way, and now after being a gunpla builder, im even more of a bookworm  (well ya dont get much options in gunpla building anyways xD)

5. My favorite lego set will forever be the x wing starfighter. It could open its wings, and shoot beams, also, come on. It looks dope as hell. :dot:
