Hi all. I'm trying to shake off the oppressive shackles of Silicon Valley tech culture (I was indoctrinated so well D:) and connect back to my roots of being a crafty webmaster.

I made a manifesto on my Neocities site, about what tech can be, in my eyes. I designed it in its final HTML instead of starting with a design software and approved UX methodologies.

I hope you like it! But who cares if you don't, I'm living my truth. Chaotic & heavy with meaning.

this is really really outstanding. n the most positive and affectionate way possible, it was a bad idea for me to read this 20 minutes into my shift because it brought me to tears. i love the sentiment you put forth and you've put words to a feeling that comes and goes for me - the fact that no matter how much you want to believe youre alone in your struggles and your life, that you truly arent. i keep telling my friends that making a website is like standing on the backs of giants - none of us would be able to accomplish what we do if it wasn't for the hundreds of thousands of people who built and expanded and explained the internet for everyone that came after them. this is really beautiful and i love it

Thank you so much for the heartfelt reply. It made me tear up over here too. I'm really glad what I wrote resonated with you. Sometimes with my ideas I think no one could really get it. Like, language is a restrictive expressive medium. But the fact that you saw something in the manifesto that I didn't directly say, but I found through you telling me — we're never alone. It makes me think we must be cooking up something good.
