The Artsy Websters Discord Server

Hellooo!! I know I'm not as active here, but figured I could give it a shot on sharing my server out there! Artsy Websters is a place for web designers, artists and coders to hang out! We talk about our own little projects, art postings, our collections, video games, and even share some experiences playing around with Linux and a variety of distros 

For now, the server is quite chill, but I think that's also very good - it's meant to be a very cozy place for anyone to feel like joining and vibing together, whether you're a netizen starting your website journey, or just someone feeling like sharing some arts, or just having fun 

Now what are the rules? 

- It's a server with older teens and young adults (early-late 20s) in mind, so it is kept at PG-15. No mature content is allowed (18+ talks or content are a no).

- Swearing is also not allowed. I never liked how swearing naturally makes the mood more hostile, so I decided to put a rule to keep that at bay.

- No controversial topics, discussions, dramas, venting, or disrespect are allowed in there. Everyone must be nice to each other, and keep the mood positive and welcoming :]

i feel like making it a matrix or irc thing instead of a discord thing would be more in line with the ethics of the web revival considering discord has many issues right now and melon would prefer people not just congregate onto a discord server. they're very poor for preserving information and have had data leaks recently, among a lot of other issues.
it'd be more appreciable if you just made a presentable presence here on the forum instead of forcing people to interact on a discord server which keeps people tied down to the corporate web. you could even make your own forum like people have done here.

i don't use discord that extensively and treat it as an extension of my own lil blogosphere as opposed to something in place of it.  it definitely has its advantages, though the same can be said of irc tbh.  the problem is getting others to jump ship and migrate to something they're entirely unfamiliar with. 

on a similar note, a problem i noticed on spacehey is an influx of tiktok tourists who join for the novelty of making a flashy page, only to become bored and abandon it completely.  either that or sign up solely to shill their discords or instagrams.

anyway - to heck with them cause the real mvps will stick around.  <3
