hey!! what resources does everyone use to make their site buttons (88x31)? i've previously used the sites such as datakrash]https://88x31.datakra.sh]datakrash and the other online button makers in the past, and my current site button was made in clip studio paint when i wanted a more custom button.

is that how most people make their buttons, by opening a 88x31 canvas in a drawing program? what font do you use that usually works at that small scale? where do you find resources to decorate your button and make it look pretty?

I use drawing programs. First, I pick some background and crop it down to 88x31 if need be. Then, adding layers on that based on what you want, text or images etc. I don't use any actual fonts but write the pixel-like text by hand. I don't have any special resources as I tend to make them pretty rarely, only if inspiration strikes.

I used canva for making mine... but it will only allow greater than 40px size. So what i did was, i first made it in canva using 176x62 dimensions, then i went to some gif downscaler to get it to 88x31, i suggest canva as you can add any external gif in the design, and also add simple animations to you elements...!

I've only briefly experimented with buttons so idk if my input will be of much use here but I've used Krita to make the frames and then turn it into gif with ezgif. I think ezgif might lower the quality a bit though its possible I'm using the wrong settings. I used the pixel art brushes in Krita to keep it legible as possible. Krita has a pretty good animation workspace imo  :wizard:

I made mine in a very old version of Photoshop - the layout of my site in general is meant to reflect mid-2000s fansites and that was the common technique at the time. its just a skybox texture recolored with a drawing of my little guy on top. one technique that inspired me and that may be of use to you is that a lot of old site buttons would use transparency to create unusual shapes, even if its just with 1 corner missing...I dont see that very much with modern websites!
