hey meloners :mark: like everyone else on here, I've quickly become addicted to the whole indie web/web revival movement. however, I fear that this might be just another ADHD hyperfixation episode for me. my bookmarks tab has 6 spots taken up by different folders with resources such as GIF archives, webrings, webmaking tools, pages I want to embed, forums... they've all filled up in a short amount of time, but my actual webmaking output and community participation doesn't seem to reflect the amount of time I've spent reading and collecting information.

how do you guys slow down? I'm realizing now that my obsession with novelty is more reflective of the modern internet attitude, and I'm pretty worried about getting burnt out from planning out all these things I wanna integrate and learn. for example, I have a folder of webrings I want to apply to, but I don't even have a dedicated div on my website to place them. in fact, my current homepage is more of a placeholder for a splash screen while I figure out separate pages and navigation etc.

I'm already noticing a decline in my IRL social life in favor of these online communities  this is a big deal to me as I'm someone who enjoys attending local DJ sets, house parties, events hosted by artist collectives, etc. but I absolutely value the third space that can be found through web revival as well.

any advice for an online-offline life balance within this movement? let's help each other out :unite:

I would say you should try to dedicate one specific web revival per day, and maybe try to do something in the real world in-between each project. Maybe I'm not the best person to answer this because I have my own organization problems, but I think it's good to take things one at a time. It'll make things move slower, but slower is always better than being too paralyzed to do anything.
