PSP / PS Vita Game Recommendations

in a similar vein to the Nintendo DS/3DS/DSiWare recommendation thread this thread aims to be a bunch of recommendations on PSP/PSVita games! mostly just doing this cus i'm thinking of getting a PSVita myself

here's some of mine! feel free to add yours if you got any.

hoping to get more as i haven't gotten too into the PSP library myself, some of these may be surface level too lol.

For PSP, some games I really enjoyed:

• LocoRoco and/or LocoRoco2 - Its a rolly blob physics game that's very cute and has a nice mood.

• Innocent Life - Farm game made by the Harvest Moon team, but it has a weird sci-fi theme where you're an abandoned android maintained by a weird old professor who makes you tend a farm in a spooky ancient ruin?? Its prob one my my top 3 harvest moon games!

• Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition - Its just a good street racing game with a LOT of car tweaking you can do.

Also very much agreed about the Patapon games, I'm awful at music games, but they are super unique.

this is my time to shine!

one of my favourite games ever, and indeed my favourite final fantasy game, is final fantasy tactics. there's an excellent new release called the ivalice chronicles that changed some of the dialogue to better fit the new, game-wide voice acting, but the PSP release final fantasy tactics: war of the lions is what that new version is based on, so it's fairly similar writing-wise. it's an incredible SRPG following a small band of rebels during a great civil war, and the relationship between their leader and his childhood friend on the opposing side. it has one of the most mature and rich commentaries on class, gender and social change that i've seen in any game, the music is phenomenal, and the job system is deeply rewarding.

although the ivalice chronicles introduces some new quality of life stuff and the aforementioned voice acting, i still think war of the lions is a great game and for some, might be more accessible than the new version!
