 I'm a Turkish guy, but there's a site across our summerhouse where some foreign people stay. One of them is an English lady and her Dutch family. They stay in Rotterdam during the winters, and come here in summers.

Once I was talking to them and some chaotic period in the Netherlands concerning a farmers unrest or something came to my mind, and I felt like asking about the situation there. I used the word "tumultuous" and none of them could understand that, and I felt so silly. Lol. Perhaps I couldn't pronounce it accurately, dunno. I immediately replaced the word with chaotic and asked the same question, and then all turned out to be fine. You know what they say: simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Haha.
