as the title may suggest i wanna burn a playlist for my boyfriend as it is his birthday soon :)
on problem is i'm a little bit stuggling to think of things to put on it (esp since i mostly listen to industrial and adjacent stuff which is a little intense considering we have very recently gone from friends to dating lol)

also it seems like a lot of love songs are about girls?

i will definely be including rainbow rocket ride by sofia isella

anyways i thought yall on the internet might have suggestions

Make sure you know how many minutes will fit on a tape or CD, and then listen to it all the way thru once or twice before you burn it. I have a couple mix CDs that i'm not quite happy with because i included songs that i don't still think fit.

Without knowing your boyfriend (or probably even if i did know him) it's hard to suggest songs. Rainbow Rocket Ride is unlike anything i listen to, so i don't know any similar songs. Maybe some Modest Mouse is a little similar, you could listen to The Moon and Antarctica and see if you think any of that would fit.

You could also just ask what songs to put on it, if you're not trying to make it a surprise.

okay i do NOT listen to industrial adjacent stuff like at ALL save for the occasional new wave group that dips into that. could be a fun niche to explore? maybe something like these classics, which in hindsight aren't all that industrial at all but still very charming imo.

you could also see if any artists in your genres of choice have covered love songs you're fond of. i know there are a LOT of covers of, say, lovesong by the cure, or this must be the place by talking heads... the latter being my favourite song of all time so i have heard many versions lol.

also, if you're looking for gender neutral love songs/love songs about boys... gay musicians may be the way to go! such as...

* peter straker
* queen if only for good old-fashioned lover boy lol
* probably more but i'm blanking and have a bus to catch lol
