Imagine that there is a essential beauty somewhere behind the world - where in the Internet do you go if you want to come near to experiencing it?
For a while, video games were my usual attempt; but I just noticed that in the past few months, I rarely actively sought for beauty that I can experience within the usual internet media - books and music (that I both get over the internet) are working much better for me nowadays. However, there is a desire for it - whenever I open a news page, what I want to find is beauty.

A website that came to my mind that is close to delivering it is is this one. There are of course many others (I suspect that my being here is due to my desire to experience beauty online), but just to give an simple example. What sites come to your mind?

I actually have an entire bookmarks folder dedicated to this. Ostensibly, it's for the link collection on my site, but I end up putting anything that I felt got me in touch with my humanity or offered something singular. A lot of it is essays or poetry because I'm a big writer nerd. Not sure if that's what you mean by "beauty", but it is beautiful to me so.

Honestly, Neocities is often where I go to find uncontainable beauty on the internet. Honestly, the things people have done with their websites is insane and there's some I'd consider to be genuine works of art in and of themselves. And even aside from that, the contents of them such as the art people make, their diaries, or anything they share from their personal life are deeply beautiful to me. It makes me feel like I really am exploring a person, rather than just a clean, marketable social media profile.
