Do you use "Recent Posts" like a forum feed?

If I visit the forum regurlarly enough, reading the Recent Posts tab is enough to keep me updated. Sometimes I also treat it as a 'surprise me' button lol; it gives me an excuse to read whatever thread I hadn't checked out yet. When I haven't been on the forum for a while I do find it necessary to catch up on every subforum first (and I do mean every single one). That helps me contextualise what topics are hot at the moment and what interesting discussions I might have missed. After that I go back to the Recent Posts tab.

I totally do! I'm still acclimating to the indie web being a bit slower than the algo'd web, but it's a good thing to become familiar with, and I like being able to catch up with threads of interest in a quick and convenient manner.
