aliens, warp demons and a general surge of wanting to make stuff

helo melonland forums!!
for my debut melonland forum post i really wanted to share my recent excitement for just... creating stuff!!
i wanna preface this with saying... i dont really claim myself to be an artist, and youll see very fast that i cant even draw lines straight, but i do just love doodling!!! after joining here, surfing and exploring peoples sites (extremely creative, all of you!!!) ive also been trying to translate my doodles onto my site, which admittedly kept me away from writing actual content and styling it super neat... but its coming along!!!
either way yes. i wanted to share some pictures!!! (that im mostly using/going to use as assets, but i think theyre neat!)

i also really want to write some sort of silly absurd lore for these critters and explore it through my site. i think that is a neat idea. i also have some character ideas and concepts in my head (and sum on digital paper) id love to play around with, like my boy, the Manifestation of Deceit (he speaks in lies):

Hi, these are really cute! I like how angular and abstract tha warp demons look, and the little alien guys are just adorable, they look like plushies to me for some reason. I wanna hold em...

And hey, you can be an artist even if your drawings aren't the most neat and polished thing ever :] what matters is that you made something unique and had fun in the process. That's what art is to me at least!

and i totally agree with you, i think its just thing of being overly critical of myself (and only myself, just to mention. im not in the business of callin anyone not an artist because of how their art looks like!!) or maybe just a defense mechanism invalidating my own stuff before someone else does maybe? i dunno, theres definitely reflection to be made here, though :)

but yes, no matter what, makin em has been bringing me so much joy its unbelievable, and i cant wait to expand on it all :D

after a while of working on my warp page and also just coming up with ideas i have a really fun concept for my index/navigation page (this is just a mockup):

i already made a little prototype in html+css for this, it works great! just need to work out a different layout for later ease of use for folks maybe and mobile. i just think this is a super neat idea.


i also need to add text signifying which planet goes to what subsection, but i plan on making the backgrounds also correspond with whatever planet you went to, excuse my very crude paint mockup:


im also thinkin of putting a little asteroid with a sign saying welcome n whatever else between the planets and the logo :)

ahh im so excited for this!!! its coming along so nicely!!
