Right now, I'm a lower bay lube technician. This essentially means that I do the draining part of oil changes from a pit that people drive their cars over... I only started doing the actual work on my third day right before the weekend, but the phrases you have to call out have been bouncing around in my head so much that I feel like I'm going to start yelling them in my sleep alreadyAHA. L2222, BAY 2.. CLEAR TO ADD OIL, BAY 2.. THANK YOU BAY 2.. OIL LEVEL VERIFIED, WRENCH ON DRAIN PLUG, 2 FINGER TIGHT, HAND ON OIL FILTER.. STAND BY, BAY 2!! BAY 2, STAND BY!!

I am an art teacher. I've been one for a long time, but always part time so I could work on my art business and grant-run community arts things. With grants pretty much dead and after an expensive move, I picked up a fill time art teaching role I (officially) start tomorrow morning.

Im a cnc machinist, well, was. Now im a industrial mechanic and am supposed to repair machines. The company i worked in before was building train engines, now i work as a mechanic, repair and set up machines that produce BRUSHES !! (brushes of all kind! except art brushes!)

Next stop is probably a machinist/mechanic that manufactures military equipment such as helicopters, tanks, or aircraft. They pay really well, although i dont want to support the production of mass destruction weapons. But what can i do? Mechanical and cnc stuff are the only two things i learned career wise, and this country is getting more and more expensive.
