So here in this forum, I will start to highlight my crochet process of making my own Gloomy Bear plushie.

I always wanted to have some kind of Gloomy Bear merch as a teen so now that I see some people crocheting their own online, It inspires me to give it a try to build-a-bear one my own too.

First things first, is getting my yarn supplies together. I pretty much saved a good chunk of white yarn from my stash for the snout and some button eyes, but I am scarce on some pink yarn. Hopefully, I can be able to obtain that bubble gum pink color I am looking for soon. If not, plan B is to make a different version of Gloomy Bear like Zombie Gloomy Bear or a Halloween Gloomy Bear(both pictured below.)since I have those pounds of yarn colors somewhere in my yarn stash.

I'll do my best to keep this updated and highlight my process. Please keep in mind that I am a slow crocheter sometimes so it sometimes takes me awhile to get some work done.  :tnt:

Fun landscaping architecture fact #2: Did you know that during renaissance Italy, there was a trend for the nobility to install hidden fountains that would be activaited via a lever? Their whole purpose was to splash water on unsuspecting visitors.

Thank you folks for the encouragement.  :4u: For now as an update I don't know if I can get pink yarn at this time so I think I will use some baby blue yarn and either make an alternative color of Gloomy Bear with it or stick with Zombie Gloomy Bear. We'll see after the whole body is finished and how I feel about wanting to add extra details soon.

For the tutorial, there are Gloomy Bear patterns out there I can pay for. (But guys I am really broke at the moment.) There's a free pattern that caught my eye though. It's this one by Kristi Tullus on crocheting a teddy bear.

Free Pattern: Small Teddy Bear

When I look at the amigurumi bear in the blog post I think this one has similar proportions to Gloomy so I am going to follow along this pattern(with some modifications.) Hoping to get started maybe tonight.

Giving a small update on how the gloomy bear is going.

So I decided to use what was in my yarn stash, instead of going out and buying bubble gum pink yarn right now. It's a popular color at the moment to use I believe so the supply is scarce. Plus I do have a bunch of weight 4 baby blue yarn, so I need to start using more of that up.
Another yarn I am using from my stash is a pound of white weight 4 yarn as well.

And since both of the yarns I am working with are chenille, I am sticking with using the alternative chenille pattern on the teddy bear website for a somewhat better control of working with these types of yarns.

So far with my progress I have completed the head portion of the amigurumi. (The picture will be attached.)

I had some trouble with the muzzle at first. Idk how but I tried to trim it and it unraveled so I had to redo it. The second attempt came out so much better though.

Gloomy's head is longer than I wanted to be but it's fine. I think I can modify it when it comes together more with the body as I make more of the plush. If not, he will just be long gloomy bear then.
