Typhoon 2001 - Mid 2000 remake of "Tempest"

Reviewed Typhoon 2001 on my blog. Given that some of you here seem to be interested in the aesthetic of the Aughts, I thought you might like it:



So, all in all it is a rather faithful remake of the - trailblazing - Tube shooter Tempest. You fly through a nearly endless Tunnel and have to evade enemies and their bullets. Upgrades improve your strength.

This remake features many graphical decisions that were probably considered ghastly by many back then: Comic-Sans-like Fonts, Gradients, Glows, a UT-Style announcer and youth-language ("Dude!"). I doubt anybody could do this by design nowadays if they tried.
