Hello! There are a bunch of MMO retro-games that are still online or have fan-servers: WOW Classic, Ultima, Runescape. But my problem is that I am looking for some specific aesthetic. You see, I was raised on a MMORPG which looked like this. The game was....pretty bad but I had so many cool memories from it. I have very strong feelings for pre-rendered games in general but as an isometric MMO it's just the peak of nostalgia for me. This game still exist (semi-dead, zero online, still on Flash Player and barely working) but I don't want to torture myself and just looking for same vibe. For example, I accidently found this one, The 4th Coming, which has the vibe that I was looking for. But I'm not sure that I am ready for the blind test so I decided to ask you if maybe some of you have something on your mind. It shouldn't be good, just not terrible bad lol

So, I'm looking for MMO(rpg or not) games that have visual like Diablo 1-2/Fallout 1-2/Baldur's Gate 1-2/Starcraft 1 etc. and still able to play. It may not be an actual MMO but mod/fan-community that made this feature. I prefer high fantasy but may look on other settings too. Thank you in advance!

I'm pretty sure there's a bunch of private servers for a fallout 1 MMO. I found FOnline Reloaded by searching google.

It's pre-rendered, and it's isometric, and it's an MMO, but not one that people usually think of... but YoHoHo! Puzzle Pirates is, amazingly, still going after 23 or so years.

(I helped alpha test it and got a lifetime premium account out of the deal, and I log in about once every four years to see that it's still there. As a fun quirk of the way the game works, I got to retain my "legendary swordsmaster" status as a result of being the best swordfighter back in beta days and not really fighting ranked battles since then... but I log in so infrequently that my clothes have all rotted to rags each time, so my character always looks like a shipwrecked newbie until somebody clicks on me and discovers that I'm strangely infamous!)

Wow I have not thought of Puzzle Pirates in what might literally be two decades, I'm really glad to hear that it's still kicking!

Oh, thank you! Glad that some of them still online, should check it if I don't find any high fantasy one

It has a slightly different visual style that I am looking for (this one is too cartoony) but…well, It looks very interesting and unique! I like puzzles so I’ll check it, thank you for the recommendation!

I just remembered, but UO Outlands is a custom private server compatible with the original Ultima Online client (from 1997 - it basically started the concept of MMORPGs as we know them today). I used to play a little UO back in 1998-99 (I even tried the alpha test at the tail end of 1996 - it came on a CD!), but the servers weren't geographically distributed well and I, on dial-up in the UK, didn't get a good experience of it.

I've not tried it, and I'm told that apparently it's a PvP-fest and not particularly newbie-friendly, but it's free I believe if you're looking for something in that vein.
