hello melonland!!!
my name is melanie, but you can call me mel! i'm 19 and my pronouns are they/it + neos.
i recently stumbled across this lovely forum via a very long journey in discovering the web revival. while i was wasn't around for the golden age of the personal web, i know in my short lifetime i have watched the internet change drastically (in many ways, for the worse). it's been a couple of years of me being fed up with hyper-algorithmic social media feeds and web3-bros, longing for an internet that feels more human and less corporate. that all changed about a month ago when a singular tumblr post led me to neocities, and i haven't been the same since. my life has seriously been changed for the better and my love for all things old web/tech, graphic design/art and internet history/archeology has intensified. i've been seeking out folks across the personal web to connect with such as on
spacehey and now here. i'm also making my own website with neocities, though in the meantime as i get a better grasp of html and what not i have a
carrd.
a little bit more to know about me beyond my web revival journey? well, i'm a disabled jewish lesbian with a dozen of intrests and hobbies. in my spare time i run a small discord server for jewish folk magic with one of my best online friends and moderate another one that is butchfemme centric. when im not doing that, i am either spending time with my friends/gf/lovely cat or engaging in one of my hobbies/intrests. some of those hobbies include scrapbooking/general arts & crafts, playing instruments and singing, engaging in jfashion cultures, playing ttrprgs and videogames, absolutely fangirling over my fav artists and media, and collect things (from vinyls and cds to posters to plushies and dolls and more!). i'm a total nerd and always down for a good conversation.
thank you for reading my post.hope to make many friends and many memories!
