You've Got Mail!

So I'm not sure if you know, but in the Thunderbird mail client you can set a custom audio file to play when you get an email. I have mine set to play the classic AOL "You've Got Mail". THE ONLY ISSUE is that my audio clip is really compressed and REALLY LOUD! So instead of being a quaint nostalgic thing its more like a constant existential fear. I might be listening to music or watching a movie while connected to big speakers and all is fine in the world and then the You've Got Mail voice of doom will arrive to split ear drums, shatter windows and wake up dogs within a 20km radius.

Anyway, I hope you all appreciate and fear the You've Got Mail voice as I do.

My mail alert on my browser is the Elvira, Mistress of the Dark version of "You've Got Mail"! Apparently she recorded a set of official AIM notifications back in the day, for Halloween.

My mom used this e-mail client when I was younger and whenever she'd get mail I'd hear it from across the house and I'd run in like "MOM YOU'VE GOT MAIL. YOU HEAR? YOU GOT MAIL"
I would randomly just say "you've got mail" to annoy the crap out of her
