At first I didn't understood the point of flooding pages. It seemed more of a bother than anything else. Sure it was funny but I quickly dismissed it as something that isn't for me.
Now that I've thought about it with an open mind, I finally added it to my website and made a dedicated page. It's called "La piscine" ("The Pool" in french.)
I wanted to include it in a way that would be part of something, either fun or aesthetic but my very limited knowledge of Javascript quickly kicked my butt back. But with proper help, I managed to make a more simple thing that still uses the flood as the main element.
I present to you : "La Piscine".
Perhaps it"s a deep metaphor of me feeling drowned by other people's cooler code stuff (represented by the neverending flood). Or it could just be the feeling of not knowing what is going on at the scale of the universe, going left and right in the vast sea of existence, managing to wander aimlessly while trying to understand life, universe and everything else. Or it could be just a goofy page I made for funsies because the sound of flushing the water hits a relaxing spot inside my ears and I want to flush it whenever I want while my picture boings around, like in a big trampoline !
It's all up to you but I've finally to make something that doesn't have a real purpose beside "because it is what it is and that's anything you want it to be".
Thanks for the script Melon

This was actually the point The flood ring came out a conversation with a friend about the idea of how all code is essentially a promise that it will do something. We have this social expectation that a promise should be supportive or helpful in some way; but I wanted to make script that would promise to cause problems! Essentially its a deceitful promise; it offers you entry into a lil club, but it also damages your usability ~ yet from that there is a sort of collective effort, where visitors and the site owner have to work together to keep the site functional.
If the script is annoying you; that means its doing its job, after that its your job to manage the script. You can delete it, mop up the site, hide it in a box, adblock it, whatever! ~ the fun is in solving the issue and turning a difficulty into a positive, while dealing with the inherent faults that all these solutions contain
I see! I'm just a bit concerned on how this would pan out in the future- I usually mop up the sites I come across just so others have an easier time, but from my experience not many seem to do the same. Maybe it's just not my thing... Ah, well. For all my opinion's worth, I think it's a pretty impressive and creative script.
