Hi! I am new here and wanted to share the free and open guide to making websites that I created in 2023. Its called byhand.website and it was born out of me getting asked again and again how to get started making websites by friends, former students, and peers. I hope to add more content in the coming months but there is already a lot there.

One area that might be of interest is the guide section which includes some free source code including website templates: https://byhand.website/guides/#htmlcss

Please feel free to use and share :)

Its a way to imply that a human being actually wrote the code instead of a large site generator like Wix or Squarespace, etc (which is often compiled in ways that are hard to parse, unnecessarily complex, and often contain trackers etc). By hand implies that its human readable code and is related to small and retro web ideas/ideals.

This looks like a handy resource! Thanks! I like all the resources you linked to as well. I'll try to take a better look at this when I need to find some specific coding things or anyone asks me about starting out. :)
