Figured somebody here would probably know about this  :ozwomp:
Do we know how to affect the gender property in this game? Are there any ROM hacks or cheats that can do this? I don't want to delete my character
:trash:

While we're on the topic, please do share any cool ways you've manipulated ROMs or any other emulation projects!  :dog:

Tried to make a rom hack for Mario Party Advanced once. I still have ghidra installed and vaugely remember how arm/thumb works. I never actually finished it, though, and most of the screenshots are the game humorously shattering into pieces, since I was working so low level and never actually used asm before.

You can use this save editor (ACSE) to swap around most things about your town (Including player gender!) - I don't think it does anything super hacky like having the player model diverge from the pronouns villagers will use for you, but that would be cool hack if it exists!

I also totally recommend the HD Texture pack for gamecube, I played it a few years ago and while in some ways it looses the clunky charm of the old look, it does make it feel super smoothh! There is one for Mario Sunshine too and it really adds a lot to that game! Also Windwaker (Handy if you dont have the WiiU version)!

Other than that Diddy Kong Racing for N64 has a bunch of widescreen and high FPS mods that I totally recommend

EDIT: Also ifff I'm not mistaken I remember playing Dōbutsu no Mori e+ (The Japanese GameCube version) but with an English translation - it adds a bunch of extra features, so its good if you plan to start a new save.

That sounds awesome! I love ASM but haven't used it much so I'd love to try this. I've only used Ghidra once before and that's just because I was trying Kali Purple and came across it.

Thank you for the recommendations! I'll have to try some of these, and definitely have to clone the save editor! I always played as a boy when I was younger, but thought I'd try girl this time, but I hate the dunce cap!

A save editor should be able to do that. I once used a save editor in my New Leaf file to swap out a villager I didn't care about with my favorite character, lol.

In fact, for those who are still playing New Leaf and have a modded 3DS, the save editor is online: https://www.marcrobledo.com/acnl-editor/

Even better, if you have a modded 3ds you can run a save editor on the system itself here!. I'm pretty sure pokemon also has a pretty good on-system save editor too, and you can also use checkpoint to back up your save.
