Cruel Summer by Ace of Base, particularly the Big Bonus Mix. That's kind of a given though considering it's in the title itself lol

For me, it's obviously "In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry. Either that or "The Boys of Summer" cover by the Ataris. This came out at the perfect time in my life to make a lasting impact. So much teenage summer drama! Cruel Summer by Ace of Base, particularly the Big Bonus Mix. That's kind of a given though considering it's in the title itself lol
Oh my god, I had no idea Ace of Base had a cover of Cruel Summer! I love both of those things, and now they're together in one thing. Thank you! I don't really listen to Lana Del Rey but 'Summertime Sadness' so perfectly encapsulates the experience of Summer when you're angsty, depressed or melancholic. And the song hits me quite hard sometimes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdrL3QxjyVw
I'm not a Lana Del Rey fan either, but the Reich and Bleich remix of Summertime Sadness really gets me.

Hmm, that is a pretty interesting question, which songs are reminiscent of which seasons. Obviously, summer songs have a higher tempo and a little more energy, on average, while explicitly summer-related lyrics are kinda optional. It's more of a mood thing than a direct reference thing, the sort of song you'd want to bring along to the swimming pool or the park to accompany you throughout your day. I guess a lot of vaporwave really hits the spot- obviously, a lot of vaporwave is themed around heat and sunscreen and water. It's actually pretty hard to think of a winter-themed vaporwave album. The toher great thing about summer vaporwave is that a lot of it is kinda obscure. I came across this album a while back and I think it's really underrated, definitely has those nice warm undertones. The other suggestion which comes to mind is Dee-Lite's "Picnic In The Summertime". I sorta think Dewdrops gets a bad rap, it's not as good as Infinity and nowhere near the high bar Clique set, but as far as a way to go out, it's not all that bad. "Picnic" is definitely the highlight of the track list, it has some fun things going on.
