Very short writing I did based on the movie "I Saw the TV Glow." I'd watched it the night before writing this and was like "hm, I see people do that little trend where they share their stories so maybe I'll do something like that too!!" and this is the product of that. Feel free to write similar stories below, I think that'd be super cool actually :dog:

I saw the tv glow for the first time in 6th grade while watching it with my best friend; but the tv did not glow for her. I was illuminated by the soft light emanating from the screen while her face stayed hidden in the dark. She stopped speaking to me soon after. I decided it was best to keep the tv off around others.

The glow of the tv stained my face, no matter how hard I tried to wash it off. People I had never met were recognising the glow and asking where it came from. I could no longer keep the tv on even when alone, I unplugged it completely.

I noticed a similar glow, though of many different shades, on others around me. They encouraged me to plug the tv back in, to turn the volume up, to soak in the glow.

When I had become comfortable with the soft glow of the tv, the light changed colours, straining my eyes. I forced them shut, ignoring the light, though it shone through my eyelids, pouring into my body. I pulled the static from my ribs and cast it aside, the noise had become far too loud to ignore.

Others ignored the glowing static as well; it hurt more than I expected it to. I wanted to switch the channel. I flipped through hours of static until I found a channel with a soft blue glow, a harmonious mix of the beautiful glow I saw with her and the harsh colour I saw in the mirror.

I no longer fear the bright glow of the tv, sitting dormant in a dark corner. It illuminates the surrounding shadows with cascading shades of blues and purples. I still fear the darkness, but the tv bathes me in its light, repelling the oppressive shadows.
