The game has basically two features: a map transition and chicken hit and egg collect loop.
I'm wanting to get feedback about the attack swing and the egg collection before I make the rest of the game.

How high was your egg count when you stopped playing?
What did you think of the egg collection?
How often did you feel like hits that should have landed did not?
What do you think would be important to improve about the sword swinging?

Hi! I gathered 150 eggs and here's what I've found so far...

Egg Collection was fine, I didn't think it was an issue! I'll admit, I'm not sure why hitting the chickens with a sword would make them drop eggs logically, but I though the mechanic of having the dropped eggs land in a nest which you then have to pick up added to the challenge, I enjoyed the loop of collecting eggs and swinging at chickens, managing to do both at the same time.

I feel like the hits landed about 85% of the time, with most hits not landing if I was moving too many directions at once. I also am not sure if my reported missed hits are false-negatives, as there isnt a good signal from the chickens that I've hit them. I know they get pushed back, but sometimes thats hard to see/register when you're already chasing chickens, focusing on swinging, and collecting eggs. Some kind of reaction such as a change of color, flash, symbol, animation or sound could help you better identify when chickens have connected with the hit.

As for sword swinging improvements, I noticed my highest chance for misses came when the chickens were too close to my body. I do not know if this was purposeful or not for the hitbox, but chickens that are on top of me or near my torso do not hit the chickens as often as chickens slightly further away.

As for other comments: I tried testing to see if I could lock a chicken in a corner and spam egg harvesting with it, which I could not do. There were many times I cornered the chicken, but it didnt stay there for long. So the chicken egg harvesting does not seem exploitable in that sense, which is good! Very true. I will definitely do that.

I've shared this on a few platforms at this point and of the people who have responded, this is the most observant thing I've heard yet.

I think I have some idees on how to fix it. I'm thinking about getting rid of the lunge, or at least having the lunge be a secondary attack. And I can stretch the hitbox back as to hit more inside.
