Im trying out DeArrow atm (made by the same people as SponsorBlock) - It basically replaces all the clickbait thumbnails and video titles with community made accurate and descriptive titles. It seems to work well for popular channels (most of the smaller channels I follow are unaffected), it definitely makes browsing a little less stressful!

i think an exhaustive list of every extension i use would be a bit much. instead, i'll list the ones i view as vital to my ability to use the web at all:

ublock origin, obviously

noscript, hence my signature

greasemonkey (userscript manager)

stylus (userstyle manager, you can safely assume i have a userstyle for any site i visit with anything vaguely resembling regularity)

imageblock (adds a one-click button to the toolbar to prevent the browser downloading any images. very useful when my network slows to a crawl)

useragent switcher (great for visiting a site that incorrectly tells me it won't work on my browser. i keep it on random mode to keep webdevs on their toes, manually overriding only when necessary)

web developer (valuable for anyone interested in webdev. doesn't do anything you can't do without it, but has a GUI that makes some things easier)

sponsorblock (i used to use clickbatit remover too before i discovered the much-superior invidious. with a few simple css changes, invidious is an experience far better than youtube with clickbait remover. the only reason i watch videos on youtube itself rather than on invidious is that invidious doesn't have subtitles)

i'm always on the lookout for new ones and I think I'll definitely try some of the ones in this thread (esp DeArrow!) but rn I use:

  • ublock (obv)
  • bypass paywalls clean for paywalls on news sites. even works on my local, non-american news sites! (not available anymore but can be downloaded via github still)
  • Sponsorblock
  • Internet archive/Wayback machine
  • Auto Tab Discard
  • Undo close tab because I often accidentally close tabs and this is a lot quicker than finding them again in my browsing history
  • Fonts Ninja as I am a typography nerd and i often wanna know what fonts are used on websites.
  • Mullvad Privacy Companion
  • Privacy Badger
  • Cookie Autodelete
  • Annotations restored for youtube, I miss them and I like rewatching old videos sometimes
  • Shinigami Eyes, as explained by another person in this thread
  • Block Site, I had a Sudoku problem in the past where my screentime went up a significant amount because I was playing sudoku for hours and i needed to put in a child lock in order to regulate my sudoku playing.
  • Wikipedia Vector Skin, i miss the old Wikipedia look but am not willing to make an account for it

The only extensions that I use that I haven't seen mentioned here are:

  • Return YouTube Dislikes, which does exactly what it says.
  • Don't Accept Webp, which blocks the webp image format.
  • Facebook Container, which blocks Facebook's trackers (which can be found on other sites, aside from Facebook).
  • Indie Wiki Buddy, which blocks Fandom Wikia my detested, and promotes indie wikis instead. This extension is especially useful if you're a fandomgoing type!

I just wanna leave this here in case anyone else has this super niche issue one day too: If numbers and special characters are not showing up, just invisible with a huge gap in the text, turn uBlock Origin off and back on again.
I don't know why, but for some reason uBlock apparently blocked numbers in LibreWolf for 2 days now and it was difficult finding the issue
