suggestions for credit intro systems

i have two ideas to throw out there, but (disclaimer) i'm not sure of either of them!

the way i understand the current system, when one artifact is adopted for three credits, those three credits go to the user the artifact was directly adopted from. what if adoption itself generated more credits? in the 3 swap example, the adoption cost could still be 3 credits, but then 3 credits would go to the user it was adopted from and an additional 3 credits would go the user who originally uploaded the artifact.

another idea is a little button somewhere in the corner of posts that other users can click to say they enjoyed the post. sort of like a "like button", but instead of it being a public reaction count, it will send a private notification to the poster along with a credit. it wouldn't come from the sender's personal credit supply, but be freshly minted. to limit inflation, maybe each user can only create one credit per day like this? with the previous gift system, i knew that i could theoretically send someone a gift because i liked their post, but i never did it because i was never sure what to call it or what image to use. (what if i gave someone a gift they didn't like and then it's displayed under their avatar on all their posts?!) this would be more like "loved your post! here's a little tip to spend on artifacts as you please!"

maybe every 1000 words posted on the forum gains you a credit?

good news for the users who quote the entirety of others' really long posts and add two words underneath

Melon Stock Market?

Stock value increases or decreases randomly. You investing in a stock could have some cool effects on the value (More likely to increase in value based on how much you invested?)

They need to have some sort of limiting factor to stop inflation though; maybe every 1000 words posted on the forum gains you a credit? (or something along those lines) - OR maybe you earn credits from people clicking your eLink banners - although now its turning into a real ad economy

I honestly think both of these ideas are pretty fun! I'm not sure what else I would suggest... Maybe something to do with guilds somehow?

Yeah, the Ham Stone is an easy giveaway, but I couldn't do the set without it! 

I've always been fascinated by this side of the game. It has NOTHING to do with Hamtaro or even the main gameplay, yet I spent a lot of time as a kid rubbing stones to get the gems inside. I loved collecting them!

Question: is the 6 limit on displayed artifacts under your profile info intentional? A way to prevent hoarding graphics?
Because I might be an unicorn, but I have the collector instincts of a dragon 

If the 6-limit stays, I'd like to get to choose what gets to be featured under my profile. For now it seems to keep the 6 most recent artifacts, which is a bit cumbersome to me. I don't want to lose my rotating Scrafty 

I also want to vote in favour of @loren's "secret like = 1 credit" system.

Inflation's a challenge in any virtual economy; but you can counter it in the same way as the real world does: by raising prices.

Sure, give more credits for engagement. Or for creating engaging posts, perhaps: one credit for every 10 non-you replies to a thread you start. Or for longevity, e.g. an extra credit every year on your birthday. Or something. And if it gets out of control (it probably won't), then just bump the starting credits (and creation prices) by 1 a pop. Sorted.

(tl;dr: managing an economy is hard; turns out capitalism is fundamentally flawed, amirite?    but that's a different topic...)

you were correct, was thinking that could be it too, you have to delete the { and } in the code as well for it to work

I thought about being able to find out who took an artifact from you would be very cool after my recent one got taken more or less immediately after creation. I'm actually just curious but...

That's a fair idea, the forum was not logging artifact transactions, however its really easy to do that, so I set the code in place; form now on all trades are being logged. I'll work on an interface to show past trades when I have some time in the near future!
