Starting a webcomic: Starbun

I’ve started a webcomic on my site (again).
I’m treating this more like an old newspaper strip so I don’t have a concrete story (for now). I’m placing a character originally meant more as a mascot into the world of another dead project I’ve had on my backburner and focusing on him.

I’ll also take it a little on the slow side. I wanna try and stick with this one. And I want to do it (mostly) for fun.

I’ll keep ya’ll updated as I add to it.

oh yay this looks cool! I love your art style so I'm excited to read this as it updates  I want to start drawing a comic for my project as well, and I have been toying with the idea of a once-in-a-while comic strip format like this, rather than a full on serialized webcomic which can be a lot of work and feel like a big commitment. I'm a big fan of many short stories set in a world rather than one big novel.

Thanks! Hopefully I’ll improve on the art style as I go along. It’s sort of riffing a little off of Sonic’s design language but in my own way. I’m happy with them so far.

Yeah I come to realize I’m not super effective with large-scale projects (or at least not yet). I figure making them small stories within a larger world might  make it easier to progress on something lol.

lol I did take some inspiration from Sonic for the style and I’m a casual fan of the franchise. I may throw in some quirks from other styles as time goes on. But I like where it’s started so far.

Added a short one this morning:

This might seem a little drastic, but In fleshing it out, I’ve decided to change the setting and title of the webcomic around.

My overarching idea is that the comic centers primarily around four friends:

A rabbit named Milo
A skunk named Thatcher
A Flying Fox Bat named Jazmine.
And a Ring-tailed Lemur named Nemo.

All four of them have a band called MOONROT.
And all of them get into little spooky adventures.



EDIT: APPARENTLY Moonrot has already been taken by some small punk band. I’ll rework this.
