@rnottelovesowls I swapped out the colour inverter with a new function that basically tries to keep the colour, but make it darker of lighter depending on your theme; it still needs some tweaks, to tune it in right, but let me know what you think!

You can turn it off.

Go to your profile, click on "Look and Layout" under Settings & profile in the sidebar, then scroll down to Time Format and uncheck Dundee mode. Then scroll down and click Change profile.

Part of my logic for this is that the vast majority of "people" reading the forum logged out, are not people, they are bots and crawlers. I think there is genuine poetic value is disconnecting from time as a human, but I also think there is genuine practical value in taking away time context from bots scraping the forum.

like dotmidi said above, i also hope it encourages people to reply to older topics! i think the reverse-chronological feed format of most websites online today has made people overvalue newness. i don't like the notion that people should only read or respond to what's happening right now, or that anything more than a few days old should fade into irrelevance (...until maybe one day it becomes old enough to classify as "retro" and gets renewed interest). the topic-based organization of a forum allows us to build on ideas in a different way than most other social spaces online, and i think this is a refreshing way to embrace that difference!

taking info away from bots is a nice bonus too.

The page you linked has instructions for making Firefox use those, once the font is installed on your system. I assume other browsers have similar settings.

If they don't you could try to remove every other emoji font, so that's the only set available. But i don't think it includes all emoji so you'd miss out on some.

I'd like to request the ability to ignore individual topics! (right now I think we can only ignore entire boards, unless I'm missing something!)

I can look into this! But could you describe what you mean by ignore in this case? Does ignoring a topic just hide it from the recent posts stream, or does it hide it from the board totally?

(Also if you wanna PM me the actual topics you'd like to ignore, I'd be very curious from a community moderation perspective!)

I'm guilty of mostly using recent posts to check out what's new on the forum, so being able to hide them from the recent posts stream would work well for my personal needs. However I know that others use the site differently. Maybe in the actual board the topic's name could be changed to "hidden topic" or something rather than it disappearing completely, that way everyone still gets a complete list of topics, but they don't need to see the title or details.

And ok, I will send you a pm, but they're mostly just my pet peeves

Done, you will now see a small "Ignore" button at the top of topics, clicking it should hide it from most of the feeds around the forum!

More clarity around Dundee mode. Maybe every date/time with it enabled should have title text "Dundee Mode", as a hint for what setting to look for. A way to search all the settings pages at once would also be helpful.

This one might be a bit ambitious: Digital ATC/ACEO. Similar to artifacts, but they're drawn using an oekaki tool on the site, and then can be traded or bought with swap credits. Collected cards are saved in an album, with favourite cards being displayable on profiles.
