You guys have such interesting desktops! Mine is so basic by comparison, lol. I would love to learn how to get my mac desktop to look like classic WindowsXP. That time was my era and it was as PEAK as it gets! WindowsMe is also nostalgic for me but I'll admit it was kind of crummy at times.

Maybe I'll look into this further when I have time so I can get a cool-looking retro desktop like some of yalls! But it's been so long since I dabbled in this stuff. Pray for me, lol.

I don't know of many programs for customizing a MacOS desktop to look retro, BUT there is a cool terminal emulator that's available on MacOS, called Cool Retro Term. It looks like this:

i love seeing people's desktops (perhaps i am just nosy...)!! mine is relatively simple... aside from my music player and the fact i have two monitors, i suppose. i've tried to customize windows 11 before and it didnt work out too well... plus, i recently had to reinstall windows, so everything is kind of in a mostly blank state.

i keep a few shortcuts openly on my desktop, like my obsidian vaults (uchusen nikki is my diary, SOL info is for my system... DID system, that is. memory barrier occur between alters, so this vault is to provide basic information about our life in it's current state), a folder that contains shortcuts to games, an "easy access" folder for stuff i need to access quickly. and of course, shortcuts to various webdev stuff, such as my site local directory and WinSCP and VSCodium.

i usually keep my calendar or Foobar2000 open on my second monitor, as you see in the screenie. i just think it looks rather nice. if you're wondering what's behind it... uh. the same exact wallpaper and a blank desktop LOL.

(as for what i blacked out on Foobar2000— it's just a local radio station! i didn't want to like, doxx myself or anything LOL).

Heres my beautiful CashyOS desktop that I love!
The wallpaper is custom, I used the same as a BG for my browser (firefox ofc) and for my once-a-year streams!

yee i used to like regretevator alot but not anymore, the devs are really toxic and the community isn't much better,, but i still like phighting phighting is awesome :>
