This image is both unsettling but also a little magical; like the totoro catbus might pull up at any moment, I really like it! I just got back from The Netherlands and I realized I don't think I saw a single payphone while I was there

Hello! I have come to bring you TELEPHONES! 

Here are all the phones I could find in Venice, Italy on the 24th of September 2024, as far as I could tell one claimed it was temporarily out of order while the others were working!



On the 25th I visited Bologna, Italy and observed two very similar phones within the bounds of the city, mostly in the university area! Surrounding them appeared to be quite a lot of student chaos, so these specimens were difficult to acquire!



I will continue my searching!! Good luck fellow telologists!

I love how every country has its own ubiquitous but totally different payphone design from the next. Never knew there were so many kinds. I have to see if I can find one from over here...

For a while I was getting annoyed with my smartphone and considered throwing it out the window and getting a pager instead, and using public phones. Doesn't quite work, in retrospect.
