Hi Everyone!
I'm finally getting close to having a demo ready for my project I've been working on the past few years. It's a turn-based, card collecting RPG called Sudden Soul. It's set in a post-modern world where a wide blackout event occurred, once people wake up, they realize some of them have gained elemental powers
(10 possibilities between fire, water, earth, lightning, sound, darkness, light, machinery, poison and wind). The game follows the chaos that ensues shortly thereafter. This game is an amalgamation of a bunch of ideas I've had throughout my life blended into one project and I've put together a small team to help me make it (with everyone credited on my website).
A quick overview from the Itch.io page:
"No prophecies. No legends foretold. No destined hero.
A sudden blackout within the city of Oasys causes havoc as people and creatures wake up with new powers. Control 10 different party members each with their own element which can combo off another. Light up an enemy who just got oil bombed, electrocute a ruffian after they got drenched in water - and many more possibilities."
Some WIP screencaps of menus, combat and the overworld!
Thought it would be fun to keep Melonland updated through the game dev journey! We are using Godot 4 to develop (we started in 3, but decided to blow it up and restart on 4). I'll be posting updates here such as gameplay clips, WIP sprites/blender models as well as just small talk and also answering questions.
