Hello Melonlanders!
A while ago I looked around for some glossy buttons I could use on my website, something people could put on their own page linked to my site as well as just for nav buttons. I couldn't find any that I liked so I decided to make my own template.
I spent a while trying different colour brightnesses to see what looked best under the gloss, that's what the palette is for. The lines were made in Paint.NET with a paintbucket, light primary dark secondary, then Dark Upward Diagonal.
I've attached the PDN to this post, as well as each layer as a PNG if you want to use a different program. I did try putting the layers into GIMP since I know that's popular, but it messed with the gloss's opacity for some reason and made it more opaque, even though in Paint.NET that layer has normal opacity and blend. So I can't promise it'll be compatible with another program.
Here's some examples of what I've made:
In my experience if something doesn't look good under the gloss just darken it.
If you do make something with this put it in a reply in this thread, I'd love to see it! :]
