Alright here we go!
currently the only (traditional) social media i use is Reddit and Bluesky. i consume content on youtube and occasionally post stuff but that feels more like an archive than a social platform to me. ill also mention that i use discord since others here have, but i dont count that as a social media in my head.
ill only mention the socials i have any kinda history with:
Instagram: left it a while ago and made a
lengthy as hell blog post explaining why i did so. i used it a lot to keep up with friends, but then decided to try do that in other ways since the mental drain and privacy cons began to outweigh the pros for me. it felt bittersweet to leave, but i thought it was the right thing to do.
Twitter: used it frequently, decided it was bad for me, deleted my account and made a new one and curated it just for fanart, discovered bluesky and left.
Reddit: i like fourms so i use it frequently, i try to use privacy frontends on web but dont like that i cant interact with posts that way, thats a privacy sacrifice im more willing to make than meta's
pintrest: litterally only use it on my pc (with a bunch of tracker blockers) for images for my website.
bluesky: twitter repalcement for me. i love how it doesnt feel like its algo is forcing me to stay and consume content all the time. when im done im done.
Cara: recently discoverd and dont use as much but it has a lotta cool art.
