Ah, Rain World. I would know a little something about Rain World.
One day, the Autism™ Hit™ and I started combining Rain World and early SMT to make a fangame for some reason even though those two things don't go together whatsoever.



I also starting making a Rain World DooM WAD as a joke but then it consumed my life for like a month or 2 and I spent way too much effort on it...

Technically it's supposed to be Outskirts in both but the first is super indev and that's a pretty old image anyways (the only texture we had at the time was a graffiti texture) LOL.

i loove rain world, every so often my boyfriend and i will play together. i also love how creative the modding community is for it, i've played around with a handful of fanmade regions and such. i have never been particularly good at the game, i haven't beaten it myself (have watched my boyfriend do so though), but i love the way it presents the lore and how it actually feels like you are a defenseless little creature (at least when first starting to play the game)

Rainworld is such a beautiful game. The procedurally moving critters all seem alive and the grand apocalyptic backdrops inspire so much wonder. I really love games where you just explore, wandering about the cool surroundings like an art exhibit, but; to give credit to rainworld, it's not a walking simulator. Trying to survive can be a genuine struggle when you see a poisonous color and run and run but the time ticks down and the rain starts to fall and pour and you're still hungry and lost and stuck between a rock and death. Really makes you feel like you're not just observing, but ingrained.
