i LOVE the metal gear solid series, but i much rather someone else play it for me while i watch! i'm quite clumsy, and sadly this clumsiness transfers over to video games. any sort of stealth game i am simply destined to fail at, it's just not in my nature to be good at that sort of thing!

but the lore, characters, and plot of metal gear solid are SO good! in fact, my first exposure to the series was watching the cutscene "movies" people put on youtube, so i could basically get the plot of the entire game without having to actually play it!

Arknights! I love all the art and character designs and worldbuilding so much! buuuut while I enjoy the gameplay too, a lot of the stages take a lot of brain power that I never seem to have haha
luckily my brother is super into Arknights, so he can summarize the story and the characters for me, and show me all the newest music (Arknights has an absolutely amazing soundtrack)~

Well i have a similar-ish thing, ive always loved undertale, since it came out, i played it a few times but never once finished it, so now it just sits there in my steam library, and the thing is, ive been relatively active in the fandom ,well , since it started , and never really stopped, i love the soundtrack , the characters, the gameplay, story, everything , but its like i never have the time to finish it and when i do i dont want to actually do it? its weird  :ohdear: .

ive been saying ill finish a ton of things this summer, including a few games, so maybe ill actually do it this time, but until then, i dont think ill be able to.

I'm the same boat with horror as a lot of you: Interested in the lore and characters but too scared to play it myself. I love watching other people play though! Especially if it's my friends because it way less scary for everyone. (this is my absolute favorite moment from when my best bud played my favorite horror game).

Other than that, I'd say a lot of rougelikes and metroidvanias. Hades, Hollow Knight, Darkest Dungeon, Slay the Spire...I'm very bad at these games but just like horror, I love the lore, world building and characters. Luckily, these are my brother's favorite kinds of games aaand he likes talking about them. Two birds with one stone right there! I get to watch him play and learn about the game, and he gets to talk about it! And as a bonus he teaches me about the game mechanics (particularly of darkest dungeon and slay the spire) so I've gained an appreciation for it  :ha:

Metal Gear! Some years ago I watched my ex play through MGS 1-4; she wanted me to try it, but I am SO, SO bad at it from a gameplay standpoint lol. That being said, I watched her with full attention and totally love everything about the series, I think the story is completely amazing and maybe as good as it gets. But I don't think I'd ever play it firsthand...

There are many games I love but can't play for the same aspect of enjoying the lore more rather than gameplay. And some of these are horror titles some examples being Silent Hill, Five nights at freddy's, Bloodwash but I'm very jumpy XD

For my answer though I'm going to have to go with Animal Crossing New Horizons. I want to play it again but my motivation for it dies so quickly because it doesn't share the same charm the old games have and the villagers don't feel like they have as much personality as the ones from the old games sadly.

I love the Half-Life series, but a lot of the time I'll feel too tired or spaced out to be able to pay attention and properly enjoy it.

five nights at freddys is this for me  :dive: i love fnaf's lore, i love trying to make sense of it and all that entails, but actually playing the games sounds like such a slog. i don't handle frustration well and the fnaf games (the early ones in particular - i might play security breach because that one seems like a blast) are frustration simulators. i have way more fun watching other people play them  :ha:

same with dark souls: fascinated by the lore, will spend hours watching other people play them and scrolling through the wiki, but boy howdy am i awful at souls games. if i had more patience i could probably get it done... but i don't have that patience :ha:
