How did you come up with your username? Why did you choose it?

It doesn't have an actual meaning as such, I just wanted something that sounded very "username-y", like the kinda username I would have picked as a kid using the internet for the first time. (I only chose the name very recently as I wanted a new online persona)

Plus I like the sound of "camelCase" so that was in my head and I decided to go with camelwise but spelt wize because.. I'm not even sure. I think the wize part was me just guaranteeing the name wasn't already in use by not using a real word.

Went with lowercase because lowercase names feel more fun/less serious to me.

It wasn't part of the name choice but I also like the band Camel, and camels are pretty dope so that was a bonus.

As you can see there wasn't much actual logic to it, mostly went off vibes.

Mine comes from a YouTube video made by the actor that played Gibby in iCarly. When I found it in college I thought it was literally the funniest video I've ever seen, and I've used it for so long that it has become sort of a persona for me.

Knotnu, my username is chosen to be my primary because I wanted to prank my friends whenever I try to tell them what is my username in my socials. So whenever I tell my user name, they will always say "Is it not new?". And I will have to spell it out for them. Always make my day

i used to go by multiple names back in 2023-24, a few of them were things like 'chireii' and 'sakushi' but i wanted a short, nice name so i decide to shorten 'sakushi' into saku 
i went by sakupurin around early 2025 but the username was often taken on some websites like youtube so i decide to change it as i wanted an original username 
my username became sakusplushie for a while, but i didnt rlly like the sound of it and after some thinking i changed it to sakufukufu  it sounds better and i like it

I created an account on a website (idk what website that was) and i needet to do a "I am not a robot" capture. Then i needet to make me a username. I had no idea and then i thought "Notabot" bcs of the capture :)

[WaybackGuy]

WaybackGuy is a reference to s period of American history, art, culture, and social change that I take interest in, bookended by the 1939 New York World's Fair and the Richard Nixon Watergate scandal. While this period does not overlap my own life, I experience an uncanny nostalgia for this time, informed by the art, literature, music, social change, and historical events and figures of this era.  This nostalgia is probably artificially colored by various media that have depicted this era over the years. The term wayback is a reference to WABAC Machine, featured in the Peabody's Improbable History segment of The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends, 1960s Cold War era cartoon.

I just really liked the anime Kaiji, and the main character from it with the same name.

aliens are cool and that was kinda the extent of my thinking (i've been using variations on this username since i was like 13 TwT)

that being said a cooler backstory is probably my website url 'ultraviolet catastrophe' which is a term from the history of quantum physics to describe when people didnt accurately model the energy of different frequencies of radiation making it look like uv light had pretty much infinite energy (kinda). that one actually came to me pretty organically lol as my physics teacher was talking about it in class I thought huh that would make a pretty sick name for something

I watched a lot of this Twitch streamer/YouTuber that goes by the name of VineSauce (and honestly still do watch him currently) and he has these segments for his Sunday streams where he plays corrupted video games, and during these corruption streams he would refer to glitched colorful/rainbow textures in video games as clown vomit and I thought it was really funny and used it as my username. I feel like it perfectly encapsulates myself as a silly weird guy that also likes clowns.

I came up with my username in 2015 at the time I was obsessed with both Llamas and Corgis so I came up with corgithellama. Is it a Corgi named Llama? The world may never know
Nothing else sticks with me so I just keep using it

Basically because pigeons are on of my favorite animals and "groovy" is one of my favorite words hahahah

Also I associate the word "groovy" with the 70s (one of the most visually appealing decades for me)

When I got my first phone, I immediately searched for animal games to play, and discovered WildCraft! Up until that point, I had only known Roblox MMOs with animals which I secretly played on our family computer 
Anyway, in that game I mained the animal cheetah!! And I really liked 'flea' as a name because I didn't want to have a name like 'shadowlordkiller1000'. It felt like there would be expectations coming with a name like xD

So, I liked Flea because it seemed insignificant, and combined it with my main on WildCraft, cheetah and got..... Fleatah !!

I actually think my user here is Flea, which is crazy because just flea is usually taken!! Luckily Fleatah is always available when just Flea isn't :)

Funny story, actually. Mortaki was the name of my D&D character.

It was my first (and only) time as a player instead of a gamemaster, and I decided to play a bard. It was a one-shot with some people I had met in a Minecraft server, so this was also my introduction to Dicecloud. I had no clue how to set up my character sheet online, so my GM was in a call with me and basically filling in the information as I recited it to her.

When she asked me what I wanted to name my character, I picked "Mordecai" completely at random. She did not know how to spell Mordecai, but she gave it her best attempt. When we were done and she sent me the finished sheet, I was very confused by the name, which was spelled "Mortaki". I pronounced it "mor-tah-kee" and my GM was very embarrassed by the misspelling (she hadn't known she misspelled it until this very moment), but I thought it was a pretty unique name fitting for a D&D spellcaster and also the story behind it was very funny to me. So I've kept it ever since.
