A Heap-truduction

  Heeeeeey everyone!

I'm Heap, a girl who loves surfing the internet for fun!

My passion for webmastering sparked when I saw many people showing off their webpages made on Neocities! With the love and effort put into these sites, I wanted to make mine too!

So I've made my own website. I took a few pages from Melon's book, and it may not look perfect and all, but, hey, there's a first time for everything, right?

Also, PS: help me. Every time I tried to open that website it always open the default layout for neocities index pages, not the layout I'm using. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Welcome to the forums! And you're off to a good start! I think the reason for why your styles aren't applying is because you need an additional attribute in your link tag. It should look like this:

<link href="/style.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet">

The rel=stylesheet should tell the browser what the file is and how it should be applied.

hello HEAP, welcome to the forum!! 

Oh neocities can be a real pain; Iv seen some people having issues with that but I dunno a fix - maybe try downloading the index.html to your computer and then drag n drop it back into neocities might help.

Im sure u will figure it out and make the greatest website ever
