(neo scavenger, BuysDB on powder toy , VIP84 on powder toy)

- low res but doesnt use pixel art canons
- little or no antialiasing
- shading through burn/dodge tool
- heavy use of gradients
- pure grays, sometimes pure rgb colors
- gritty but not always
- sometimes janky proportions and perspective

This art style reminds me of early digital art, when "rules" hadn't been set yet and everyone just tried to figure out how to use Photoshop. It's pretty niche, I hadn't seen anything like this in a long time. I don't think it has a name.

There are lots of digital art styles that have no names because it's a relatively new medium. This especially applies to pixel art styles, since most people just call it, well, pixel art. This seems to be a mix between pixel art and digital painting, which makes it really interesting.

If you're asking what we'd call this, I suggest "alpha digital". "Alpha" because, like the early stages of testing in a video game, everyone was still trying to figure out what this new medium was about. Does that make sense?

Yeah, this is basically early digital art. Something you'd see in a 90s PC game

I've always thought of it as "flash" art, but i guess that term is quite broad. Love it though! Hope a flash revival happens soon

That would be the Perfect thing for the old web! Maybe a little ahead of HTML sites and ASCII art but the main idea of the free and uncapitilized art

This stuff reminds me of some of David Firth's stuff from a few years ago!! Particularly "Cream", I think it has the same gritty colors and mishmash of textures

It has a vibe reminiscent of a lot of RPGmaker games? It makes me think somewhat of Fear and Hunger: Termina, but that's also probably me having termina brain worms for the current moment

Delicious Realish Crust
Where it looks realistic but it also has that stank of early PC games, yet it tastes very delicious just by looking at it
