Hello! I'm Amber!

I'm a professional storyboard artist in the animation industry, a hobbyist game developer, and I make YouTube video essays on the side. I love talking about 2000s-era internet, anime, retro and indie games, alternative fashion, and so much more!

I really love thought-provoking, psychological media that explores the complexities of the human condition. Feminism and media criticism is also very important to me, and I like to discuss stories and art from a feminist lens! I've included a bunch of my favorite stuff on my profile, so if any of those interests align with you, I'd love to connect!

I'm spending more time exploring and engaging with the indie web lately for multiple reasons. First, I'm a huge old internet fan to begin with (the game I'm developing is largely inspired by this, as well as a lot of the content I make on Youtube).

Second, I've become burnt out by the mainstream social media/internet experience. I'm yearning for an internet experience that is kind, productive, and 100% curatable, which the indie web feels more aligned with. I'm in the process of designing my own Neocities page and hopefully will get that online soon!

Hi all! You can call me either Musekicker or Muse.

I'm a self taught artist (mostly in a mixed media collage art form. Though I've been working on spreading out to more sculptural with various mediums. I had used polymer clay at one point but I've been trying out mediums that air dry rather then bake as of late.) as well as a hobby writer (mostly fan fiction. )

Likes include reading (fantasy, sci fi, cozy mysteries mostly.), writing, watching animation, playing games, and just various forms of art. I love seeing what other people come up with and truly believe that everyone is a artist in their own way.

I've been looking around for more social areas on the internet as of late, which this place seems to be good for that. Also working on taking steps to learn coding well enough to make a website for some of my fics/ocs stuff.

Hallo!
I'm from Germany, so some of my writing might sound awkward. English can be difficult sometimes.

My name, Limette, is the German word for "lime," I quite like citrus and even have my own tiny limequat tree to take care of. (Limequats are a cross between key limes and kumquats, they're smaller than normal limes and their skin tastes sweet.) My unlikely fascination with citrus plants comes from an art project I've been working on for years, a story currently titled "Existence Inc." One of the main characters in it is a lemon tree! They're the creature in my profile picture.

I got interested in neocities a couple of weeks ago, and even launched my own website. It's not much yet, after all I have to relearn all the HTML/CSS that I last practiced in secondary school. Just like with drawing, I think I have to be okay with the fact that what I code won't look like what I envison in my head anytime soon.

A weird benefit of this smaller side of the internet I noticed is... my username is free for me to take! Limette is a rather new handle for me, a nickname that I'm starting to prefer over my usual online name. I'm glad that I can actually use it on places like neocities and melonland, if a bit surprised by it.

I did look at my room here, but it's quite empty right now.

I'm Haven, I go by they/them and I'm an artist! Primarily I do digital art, but have been exploring different types of crafts just for the fun of it (a reclamation really, after years of chasing the ever-shifting 'industry standard'). The newest one that stuck around was webcrafting, and it has been a blast rediscovering an old love for creating things for myself. Here is my site if you feel like perusing

The internet has been a big part of my life, but I have never actually engaged in community spaces like forums. This will be my first time so I'm hoping to make the most of it when I find my courage, which seems to escape me often,,,

Hi! I'm sycamore (they/she/he). I was on Cohost and (to a lesser extent) Neocities for a while. Now I run a simple website that hosts both my blog posts and my silly little webcomic.

I was a college radio DJ in undergrad, and I have the obnoxious music taste and flannel shirts to prove it! I'm also pretty into free software stuff like GNU/Linux (I use Debian) and GNU Emacs, as well as an assortment of kinda odd interests like canned fish, musty old tea (aged and/or post-fermented teas, that is — especially sheng and shou pu'erh but also sometimes liu bao), and sitting on the floor. My profile lists these interests in more exhaustive detail.

I am so thrilled that there are still active forums around on the World Wide Web, and I absolutely love the vibe here so far! Excited to get to know everyone<33

I'm primarily an artist (2D) and a Decker enthusiast (Here's a link to my latest jam project).

I really wanted to have a personal website again after Cohost.org closed in late 2024.

I used to make websites using plain HTML when I was a kid... but there's a lot of cool new things people can do now (CSS!) and I'm still figuring out how to use them and how I want to express myself in this new era of smallweb. While I've been researching things for my site I've often found myself here at MelonLand... so now I've joined! It makes me really happy to see a forum full of people talking about making interesting things on the internet.

I'm Leonia, she/her pronouns, and it's nice to meet you all! I haven't dressed up my room yet but I'm really excited to, and I stumbled on this little corner of the internet by browsing the social tab on Neocities. I have my own little Neocities blog I've been working on and improving here!

The moment I found this place the vibe really resonated with me and I decided to sign up! I've recently started streaming and want to make videos for a fun new creative experience. I also work on a MUD in my free time and I'm trying to expand what I've learned from that to do some indie game development! Hopefully I can post some progress about that soon  .

i became very interested in web design recently and was encouraged by my father, who was a web designer back in the 90s/2000s, to create my own site...which you can give a look here!

i'd really like to escape the rot that most social media spaces host - hence why i've sort of started my move over to the indie web and also joining this form! i feel it will certainly help me regain the creative spark i had when i was younger...after all my favorite thing in the world to do is create

Hi! I'm Arcadia, and I've been lurking here for about a month now, but I felt like it's finally time to say hello.

I've been blogging since 2010. My first blog, Manga & Mascara, can be found here. I started blogging back when I was doing webcomic stuff.

Now on my current blog (magical link!) I'm writing fiction, non-fiction, about my personality type and planner addict obsessions, my nocturnal dreams, and honestly, whatever else comes to mind. I am a very unprofessional professional writer.

Currently I'm posting to my blog a novel I wrote back when when I was 14, which is basically a slice-of-life/sci-fi take on the tropes common in the magical girl genre, among many other unexpected things. I'm just beginning to throw my coding experiments on my neocities site with the goal of creating this kind of online/offline suite of minimalist creative writing tools.

And I just want to say that I love this space. It's a dopamine hit to my adhd brain, and that's why it took an entire month of going down rabbit holes for me to even get to this welcome thread.
