I'm Beki, a digital and traditional artist from Wales who likes to paint creepy and unusual things! I mostly do static art, but I'm currently improving my animation skills so I can make actual animated shorts for my characters.
I make a lot of OMORI fanart, but the rest of the art I make is original. I have a set of OCs that I'm developing stories for.

 I, of course, have a personal website that I use to:-

• host my portfolio
• run a mini-blog in which I talk about anything that's been on mind
• collect links and bookmarks from the internet that I found useful and/or you might find usefull too
• provide references for my ocs
• archive my art I've posted online (A work-in-progress )

I just got tired of the current nature of the internet, espically social media, and wanted something different.

So yeah, that's it. Glad to be here! 
Also, I think my fav html tag (or at least the one I use the most) is <img>, or maybe <nav>. I don't know why, it's fun to type out.

hello! i joined not too long ago and was getting really into this place since i'd like to craft a website of my own. but right after i joined, my boyfriend flew down to visit around that time and i was offline, and when he left deltarune took up most of my mental real estate so i didn't get a chance to introduce myself.

i am sara, i'm turning 23 this month on july 22.

personally i spend most of my time thinking, and sometimes writing about what i'm thinking. i make art but not as often as i used to when i was younger.
my motivation to do certain things (such as making a website) waxes and wanes. the less confident of a vision i want to bring to reality, the less motivation i have. unfortunately i'm not sure of the vision i have for my website, how i want to structure it, what i want to put on it, how i want to theme it. currently i'm in a passive process of collecting image elements i'd like to put on my website.
the problem is not just that i need to brush up on HTML and begin learning CSS (i haven't really touched it much but i used to toy around with my tumblr blog so i have some level of familiarity tinkering, but i don't know how to build it myself), but there are SO MANY POSSIBILITIES to structuring a website that i don't even know where to begin since i'm kind of into a bit of everything. i'm also a true eccentric. i'm an alternative person who naturally feels at home with the weirdos and punks and goths. i'm also mentally intense and academic (my passion is biopsychology and neuropsychoanalysis. if i felt financially secure enough in that position and the publish or perish mindset didn't exist, i totally would have gone into research). i also get a kick out of novel silly things, like a png of a balloon dog or those 70s pet rocks with googly eyes, or funny/weird early web emojis that tickle me ↓

i'm capable of digital image manipulation, i've been doing it since i was young. i'll probably be editing or making my own blinkies or buttons.

i haven't checked/updated my neocities page in.... *checks* SEVEN YEARS?????? est. may 3, 2018.... last edited on that day too. haha i have a div id called "bitchbox".
ok i'm putting in some noob base code now and working from there just so i can have the basic structure.

maybe i'll make a post asking you all how to overcome that, helping give me a direction just to pick from so i don't have choice paralysis since that messes up my whole flow. i really liked how welcoming this place is, and it's great for guiding practical activity which i can struggle a bit with if i don't have a clear goal to work towards. one of my negative traits that holds me back is if i'm not already an expert at something, i can think too hard and watch on the sidelines instead of just jumping in and getting experience. i like the relaxedness of this place where a website in a WIP state is encouraged, people are just experimenting and encouraging helping each other out and sharing free tips, tools, resources etc. lots of people talented/more experienced with website building who know better than me what they're doing. it's exactly the kind of space i've been needing so thank you to this forum for existing!

  Hi!! I'm Byrd! I'm a computer science student who loves web design and the old web. I was not online during the era of Web 1.0 (little baby moment), but I really appreciate being able to return to the indie web with platforms like Neocities and the Internet Archive. I love browsing everyone's cool and unique websites - it's so much fun to read the stories that people have to tell!
I joined the MelonLand forum for that reason - I'm excited to meet new people and check out new websites

When I'm not working on my website, I like birdwatching, playing indie games, building mechanical keyboards, drawing, scrapbooking, game development, reading yuri/GL, eating sweet treats, and wearing lolita fashion.

Hiya! I'm Fireye of https://fireye.coffee! I use they/them pronouns, and I figured I'd get more down the indie web rabbit hole after dumping most of my social media last week. I do gamedev, writing, FOSS programming, and music primarily but I'll always be interested in learning new stuff. As far as my favorite HTML tag, it's gotta be the simple <div>. Call me basic but there isn't a problem that can't be solved by adding more divs. Otherwise, the <flexbox> is quite good for a lot of stuff.

I've been interested in webmaking for a while now, but only managed to release a website I was happy to share early last month. I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I've had a lot of nostalgia for old Pokémon fansites that have been washed away by the sands of time... I'm trying to channel that back into existence with my own fansite. It's been fun, and I've already met a lot of cool people that way, so I decided to join this forum too, to try to meet even more people!

What else about me... I'm an artist (mostly fanart) and a writer (mostly fanfic, although this year has not been very prolific for me due to real life circumstances.) I love weird Internet and videogame stuff. I really enjoy learning about what other people like and think; for me, that's the best part of the indie web! My favorite Pokémon is Scyther.

My favorite HTML tag... I used to be a huge <strong> fan, even though it takes up so much space compared to the simple <b>..! Secretly, I want to say I still have a soft spot for <br>... But don't tell anyone...

I made my account back in april but I've just now started posting (I'm chronically shy and socially anxious yippee) so I thought I'd say hi! I'm an artist born and raised in Wales and studying for a degree in illustration. I've been a hobbyist site builder for eight years now and I'm passionate about the sheer potential it has for allowing people to find what drives and interests them. I'm what one might call a furry and I love drawing both normal animals and animal people. that said, I've recently gotten back into TES and that's lead me into drawing funky elves for the first time in over a decade.

my personal site can be found over at caby.somnolescent.net, with somnolescent being an art collective between myself and some friends, and as well as this I have my site mirrored over on neocities, in case you would want to follow or leave a comment. my site is inspired by old web design mentality that aimed to associate digital concepts with physical ones, and also interactive flash sites and point and click games. I think it's fun!

I absolutely love character design and worldbuilding, with a few different worlds both that are personal to me and that I share with friends, ranging from vaguely 90s magical girl dog girls with angel/demon themes to a fairly complex fantasy world that I add to a lot, and that a friend has written a novel based in!

my fave consoles are the PS2 and the DSi/3DS line, with some fave console games including Okami, THPS3, Tomodachi Life, Okamiden, all the Scribblenauts games and basically any puzzle game or ones where I can run around as a little animal. I was a huge fan of Flipnote Hatena and I still occasionally post to Sudomemo when the inspiration strikes. PC games I like life sims and management games mostly! Sims 2, 3 and 4, Rimworld, Spore, and TES 3-5. (which are neither life sims or management games but. y'know.)

Hi, I just got here. My name is Bela (nobody has ever had to call me "killer"). I'm a little bit shy/awkward but it's nice to meet you all! I love to be inspired (whether it's from character/concept art in media or from stuff around me) and I can even see beauty in pretty much any kind of mundane scene. I've also loved biology (of all kinds) my whole life and am currently trying to pursue learning even more about living things!

I'm a novice to the whole web-building and indie web sort of thing but I would say that it's my newest hobby. I really enjoy how free it feels.

I mostly do digital illustrations but I'm often eager to try whatever I can easily wrap my brain around, so I make a lot of real-life clay sculptures, too. I like to make virtual machines running old operating systems and in terms of games I'm a big fan of that one "animal survival game" (usually about dinosaurs) genre. It's not one of those (obviously), but Yume 2kki is one of my favourite games of all time, so I'm excited to see it mentioned in this thread.

Wow, I haven't written on an actual forum in such a long time, it took me forever to gather all my thoughts properly in a way that made sense. Regardless I'm glad to be here!

I am a printmaker and letterpress printer, and I like old tech in general as an artistic medium. My other hobbies are collecting fragrance oils, dog training, fish keeping, and exploring cemeteries. I'm a little woo-woo and spend a lot of time working on my nervous system health.

My name's Marc better known on the net as xsolimini! Rare frenchie (and also half-filipino lol)!

I make (both mediocre) electronic music and sometimes 3d modelling!

I've had "limited" success with my music! Three tracks of mine have each reached at least 2.7k+ listens (+frontpaged) on Newgrounds , which is huge for me!
And as for 3d modelling right now I can only show you one "almost complete" Mirage 2000C (a french fighter jet) 3d model. Visible here.
I scrap my projects a lot because I'm never satisfied lol.

So... I fell down the indie web/web crafting rabbit hole almost a year ago, when I visited the website of one breakcore/dnb artist that I enjoy listening to (bye2). Her website, which btw was my first exposure to Neocities, was so cool that it made me want to make one myself, and besides, making a website would be a very good way to display my projects! I actually learned some HTML+CSS back in high school and uni as I was studying IT stuff, but I never could apply those skills and eventually forgot everything lol until I fell down the rabbit hole.

I made a simple page back in November 2024 but had no idea on how I could further expand it, until late April 2025 when I totally revamped my website. I had a different vision for my website back in 2024 but I am very satisfied with what I have done (MDN web docs saved my life)! The theme/style is a mashup of things that I like (fighter jets, y2k-ish stuff, retro-ish stuff, old web stuff, etc...) though I don't really know if the elements I drew inspiration of really stand out (i.e. the y2k stuff).

And as for other things I enjoy, I enjoy video games a lot, music such as rock/metal and electronic music (edm, dnb, breakcore, jungle, etc...), military machines such as fighter jets (mostly), tanks and obscure prototypes.

I'd also like to say that the whole indie web/web crafting movement was a big positive for me. I was a very talkative person on the internet back when I was in my early teens, but then I realised I was very cringe (still am lol) and eventually shut up for years. The whole movement made me find the joy again of communicating on the World Wide Web.

So yeah that's all I have to say and sorry I'm very bad at presentations/introductions!
