Yo. I'm Zero Kirby, alternatively known as Local Psychic. I been 'round the net since the mid-oughts and often find myself kinda missing a time when everything wasn't tied up in the social media metagame. In particular, forum culture. This place not only seems to recapture that vibe, but also seems to be a pretty good place to start augmenting my own skillset, so I figured I'd hop on in!

If you want to know what I'm into, just know that I'm a massive fan of the Metroid series and in general really like Metroidvanias and roguelikes. And deck-building games - I've got close to a complete collection of DC Deck-Builder and all its sets, expansions, mini-expansions... You know what, just cards in general, because I also have a huge collection of decks of playing cards. I like to use playing card iconography a lot.

As for what I do, I'm right now just a hobby artist and programmer. Been drawing for about as long as I can remember and programming since around when I first got into forums. Started with Game Maker 6.1 and now I'm mucking about in Game Maker Studio, tryin' to make my own deck-building roguelike thing. That project battles for my attention with a superhero comic idea I've been mulling over for a little over a decade. I'm very slow at working on things. I'm not good at it. I don't really have my own website yet, but I did grab a Neocities page that I'm playin' around with. Until I get it up and running though, I do have a carrd that links to all my stuff.

In short, I'm just another just another furry artist tryin' to meet some cool people and see some cool things. This seems like the right place to do that.

  Hey there! I go by Gelsey {he or her| over 30 and I’m new to web building. I used to be a big forum user back in the day (millennial spotted) so I hope I meet some nice people here! I also recently joined 32 bit cafe so if some of my info looks familiar I am being lazy and copy/pasting.


I love learning new things and am fatally adhd so I have a new hobby every month. Currently I’m trying to learn pixel art, building miniatures, tailoring pants, and listening to youtube essays about famous influencer crash outs. Overall thought I love reading or watching a good story, dancing, learning languages, and collecting/making pretty things.

I got most excited about the pixels and customization. I then later started thinking about why I would even make a website to begin with. That lead me down rabbit holes of looking at other people’s pages and it allowed me to think about what I really wanted to spend my time doing and making. I wanted to make a lot of shrines to my favorite pieces of media, almost like getting to journal after experiencing something awesome. And like I also mentioned - with adhd I have the constant inability to tell people my favorite things when they ask me because I can only recall the last thing I did. It allows me to make a place to really make space in my brain and jog my memory of some of my favorite things. And what better metaphor for that than making a theme park! also I love clowns.

Hi everyone! My name is Adam, and I either go by that or my full name for my social media / art accounts, but I also use thewanderingartist around a few parts and it felt like the forum thing to do (plus, Adam is probably already taken  )

I'm a professional artist, illustrator, and game dev. I've been doing pixel art, traditional art, and digital art for about 15+ years now.  I work as an art professor as well! I've got a pretty decent following for my art on social media, but I've honestly grown really tired of posting and the whole algorithms behind it... it's exhausting.

I've been missing forum culture for years, and just small communities in general. I've been around the internet since around 2009 and was a member, moderator, and admin of *many* forums back in the day. I definitely miss the slower pacing of forums and actually getting to know your community. I also have been friends with the poster a few posts ago, Zero Kirby, for over 15 years as well, so happy to be back on a forum with a friend too.

This place seems to really have a focus on creation and creativity, and just the act of making things and being active in a world where social media and other outside influences really hamper those things. I really love the vibe so far and look forward to meeting you all!

What are some books that you've been reading in rotation?

• Exordia - Seth Dickinson. Trippy sci-fi book with good amounts of maths and physics (guaranteed to make you look at pink noise in a different way) but too much military shooty-shoots and perspective shifting.
• Le Comte de Monte-Cristo Tome 1 - Alexandre Dumas. I've been reading this since I kept seeing people rave about it but it is a lil slower than I'd like. If you've finished it, please tell me if the payoff is worth it?
• Comparative Tort Law - Thomas Kadner Graziano. Writing's a bit dry but loving the fact that it includes material in all kinds of languages (Norwegian, Finnish, German, to list a few) and its translation so that I can study torts AND all the languages at the same time.

What are some things you've web-crafted?

• one day I asked myself “what would happen if I go against the dominant trend of high X-height?” and thus was born my cute monospace font called Lotion font.nina.coffee
• another day we (me & @pyrrhic7) asked ourselves “what would happen if cats were pastries?” and then we started to make this fantasy baking cat simulation browser game pastrycats.com (still very much in development lol)
• yet another day I asked myself “what if birds were to practise law?”, well nothing is born yet, not even a landing page (still heavily prototyping), but at least I purchased a cute domain name birds.attorney (there's nothing yet)

Anyway, I'm super excited to join this community because this forum reminds me of the old web I used to love when I was a child :) I've already scouted out several threads that I'm gonna reply to!
