This is what mine looks like at the moment. I usually have it on slideshow mode, cycling through various screenshots and photos that I've taken. For the sake of this post, I just had it cycle to one of my favorites.

here is mine :) i don't have any icons on my desktop, ever. the wallpaper is a screenshot from the tv show 'jurassic world: chaos theory' that i'm currently obsessed with!

My desktop has a lot of widgets and I have removed the task bar entirely. I use KDE plasma and prefer a square CRT monitor which I found in the trash behind an abandoned call center. I highly recomend dumpster diving as a way to get computers and computer accessories.

Anyway, the calculator has been pretty useful as has the always open shortcuts folder. It makes my desktop organized when I go into it with the terminal so I get the best of both worlds - icons on my desktop but the ls command is not crowded when I travel there to edit my website or write melonland comments like this one.

Here's mine! Don't be fooled by the neatness I just cleaned it up here it's usually way messier  . I use this pretty cool application called Startallback that allowed me to change the taskbar. I went with the windows 7 style since windows 7 was my favorite OS stylistically   . Also a bunch of sticky notes on the right because I just love sticky notes.

I seriously don't have that much since I don't want to clutter it and I'm keeping the genshin file since it feel like a memory. Don't even ask me where I got the wallpaper since I got it on a defunct site through an internet archive link and since I got there almost daily I can't easily find it

It's dual monitor, and animated, they switch to opposite colors slowly over time and move!

I'd say there's quite a contrast between the Ghost wallpaper and the Sonic the Hedgehog Winamp skin, lol.

hai! this is what my desktop looks like!
i use MX Linux, with XFCE DE, and the KDE Crystal icons for the ones i can style    i love how glassy it is, kinda makes it feel special or something.
i wonder any other Linux users here?

Oooh that's nice! Never heard of Retrobar or Openshell before, might look into it. Up until recently I was unsure how I wanted my desktop to look but I came across this Deviantart pic and decided to take inspo.



I went looking for a reference sheet style wallpaper and got this great one from Wizardry Variants Daphne, got some custom icons based on libraries and scrapbooks as well, and it all came together.

a classic forum thread! my desktops aren't terribly interesting, but here they are anyway:

the desktop of my modern pc, which runs windows 10. i usually hate desktop icons and prefer to launch programs from the taskbar or powertoys run instead, so it's totally bare:
