Greetings ~ Say HELLO if you are new here!

[Bindao]

Hello, everyone. I'm new here. Yes, I do have a blog, which I will link here. I like writing and I've made 2 visual novels, which you can also find linked in my blog. I'm very much into philosophy and I enjoy discussing philosophical ideas with people who are knowledgeable in this field.

[Gakipper]

Hello everyone !!
My name is Alec (which can be spelled however you like) and I also go by Kip, your pick. I'm 27, transmasc and gayyy (he/him), from the south of France!
I have a super cute and fantastic dog, her name is Sarabi. I also have a super cute and fantastic cat, whose name is Ablette, but I'm not as close to her as I am to my puppy. We chill though I love them both they're the best

I was giving myself lots of pressure to join, but here I am. I love the philosophy and vibe of MelonLand! I like lots of things, not always creative ones but I do a fair share of crafting and webcrafting.
My website is right there https://ecrevisse-romantique.neocities.org/. I re-discovered webcrafting and coding just this year, I have a huge project of bringing all sort of people back to the indie web/into the web revival movement, and I'd love to eventually make webzines (including with some irl friends and communities)
I love socializing and discovering/nurturing new spaces (I'm mostly here for the social part tbh) Idk how active I'll be but hopefully At Least A Little

Kiss kiss (in french we say la bise les ptits potes)

[heartmadefullmetal]

hey guys! its great to be here! my name is hero, i go by he/him. i was looking for something to pass the time slash relax with during my upcoming junior year, and i found this forum! i like internet forums, ive always thought theyre quite fun.

i like writing, drawing, coding, exploring my city, supporting my hockey team (go torrents! go krakens! etc), reading both books and fanfiction, and generally being a huge yapper. to answer the idea questions: my favourite html tag is the audio tag. i like how easy it is to use. i do have a site, and you can find it here! my favorite thing about making things is the satisfaction of seeing a long project come to a close. i havent decorated my online room yet, as im currently on my phone, but i have decorated my irl room with photos of my favorite fictional characters.

additionally, i really like fullmetal alchemist. like, REALLY like it.

ttyl! じゃあね！etc.

[Swirly]

Hello internet! I'm Swirly (or Swirlz idc). I'm a digital artist and oc/story creator, I also sometimes do other stuff but my main thing is art. Though for any big projects I'm working on I'm currently in the works on a visual novel and a website-based unfiction project thats sort of fits that genre of "that game I found". Though both are very early in their development, as in I'm still working on the scripts for both.

I'm also into video games, especially ones that are lesser known or ones that aren't as popular as they used to be, I'm also into other things surrounding video games such as cut content, development, bootlegs, cancelled games, hoaxs and rumors, and consoles (mainly lesser known, bootlegged, or obscure ones)

If you're interested the link to my neocities is here, though it's still a w.i.p: https://swirlzsite.neocities.org/home

I'm a little nervous when it comes to socializing with others but I would love to meet more people on here ^^

[eSatisfire]

Hello everywun!

I go by Satisfire (or sometimes Leopatra). Leo sun, gemini asc, scorpio moon (very, very important), virgo mercury, so I'm no chocolate cookie to take lightly. :D

I like reading, languages (the ones I learned to the fluentest are English, Chinese and French, and many other ones I haven't been using in a looong time), ASMR, anything goth lately, plus cooking (i've been doing that A LOT lately - moving to south France turned out to be constructive for my culinary fiddlings)

I am a hopeless 10.000-things-at-once kinda person, but I'm working on it. I found this forum because I have a project of researching all types of internet communities (mostly pre-2010 phpBB forums) and their internal cultures, how they developed, what were their inside jokes, specific but unspoken cultural rules they followed etc., in general social dynamics in online communities before big tech pharma took over the internet. So I got here by accident and got interested by the time-stamps as "winter night" and somebody saying that going on other social media makes them feel worse while going here makes them feel better: we'll see! :D

I might be hated here because not only do I embrace AI with no scruples in creating my art/projects, but also participate in the crypto/NFT space, which might probably make somebody go 'why are you even here?'. Well, here's the thing: I am very much for what is happening in the indie/alt web space, but I do have a feeling that many of the websites created so are... Nostalgic artifacts? If that makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I'm all here for nostalgia, but I think I want to create things that are marrying today's technology with the early-web's social sensitivity.

I'm not coming into it blindly: I hate A.I. slop and crypto-shills just as much as the next person, but I do think there's place for healthy usage of LLMs (idea generation, sorting, refining etc.) as well as crypto (I kiiinda find it suspicious that everyone's univocally enamored by the nostalgic feel of Frutiger Aero while it was the most corporate thing ever), which I'll probably get a lot of hate for (it's one of those things you either love or hate). I was instructed to not promote myself, which is a very broad statement and I'm probably not gonna comply (; _;) bbuut I also highly, highly doubt that anyone here is into crypto, so there's nothing to gain for me 'financially' from it anyway, and I think I registered here more to see what's up in this part of the internet and see how others are looking at the social aspect of the web revival movement (also I think I'd like to share my things here sometimes because I seem to have developed a gargantuan anxiety around putting stuff out that isn't quote on quote perfect, which, yknow, ends up in never putting out anything).

AnywaY! Here's a poem that defined my earliest web appearance (it's been a while tho '.'), I think it'll say everything about me that I haven't said here:

(pro-tip: open it in a separate tab to make it less blurry!)

[Melooon]

I might be hated here because not only do I embrace

⚑ Moderators Note ⚑

Official note!

Just as a moderation note here; you might get debated, you might get interrogated, and you might get pushed to consider views that don't fit comfortably. However being "hated" is not acceptable here, and if you ever feel that way, you should report the issue to a moderator at once.

There is genuine value in discussing a creative process, particularly when its a difficult discussion about something that has not been fully figured out yet and that people have strong feelings on. I'd encourage you to join those discussions, but always from the position of exploration, rather than trying to win an argument. I think if we can all do that, then it's worthwhile.

That's my note, welcome to the forum

[lovedesserts]

Hellooooo!    My name is (censored), oops what was that? You can call me riri. I enjoy lurking around the revival web. It feels so cozy! Although... I know nothing about coding, and I'm horrible with tech, which explains why I only found this forum with instructions for newbies. I hope to see it earlier because I'm absolutely clueless about navigating Melonland.

Answering the questions >>> I don't know much about HTML, so I guess <p> is my favourite?? HAHAHAHA. I have websites and blogs on nekoweb, tumblr, and spacehey. I've heard of Neocities, but the web is blocked in my country... My favourite thing about creating a website is making it happen WEHOOOO! Now... for my Melonland room... how do I get there...

MESSAGE ME IF YOU LIKE! I LOVE MAKING FRIENDS AND TALKING TO PEOPLE

[synthorax]

Hello, and thank you for letting me in!

I'm Synthorax, and I make ambient and atmospheric drum'n'bass music. It has plenty of pads, FX-effects combined with downtempo/jungle/breakbeat drums.

Also I started to develop my own site with HTML learning, it's an incredibly engaging process

I'm interested not only in making music, but in web design too. That's why I registered here.

I hope we become friends.

[Maddy!]

Greetings fellow users of Melonland Forum!!

I've got an awesome website you should definitely check out! It's still hugely under construction, but it'll include documentation on all my creative works, pages where I'll talk about the things I love (Kinda just shrines), and lots of random funny stuff. My website is also the place where I'm planning to host the best comic ever!! (made by me of course)

My favourite HTML tag has gotta be the line break tag <'br> ! It represents empty space or the lack of something. You know it has done it's job well if you don't notice it. Also it's a bit more unique than say, the hyperlink tag <a>.

I hope I can be involved in some meaningful discussions and learn more about others here!

Massage Message me if you wanna talk with me about something, but beware my quirky personality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[aurelie]

[puf]

hello everyone

i'm so happy to be accepted as a new member of melonland !!

i've always loved these little corners of the internet that feels personal, creative, and full of tiny bits of magic.
i'm especially happy to find a community that celebrates the old web and the revival of forums ..
i have such a soft spot for the internet as it used to feel when i was little.

there is something so lovely about handmade graphics, and pages made simply because someone wanted to share a piece of themselves.
the web felt like a collection of tiny rooms, each one belonging to a different person..
and discovering them always made me happy.

i'm also working on my own little web design projects, creating a cozy digital garden where i can share my daily routines,
little happinesses, beautiful curiosities, and things i make. i love adding soft colors, cute vintage graphics,
sweet details, little decorations, and whimsical details to my pages ..

lately, i've been having fun with what i like to call "fragmenting" my projects - instead of keeping everything together in one place,
i've been spreading little pieces of them all around the web, with links connecting one page to another.
i love the thought of someone stumbling upon one little page and following a link somewhere else,
then finding another tiny piece of the project there.. almost like a little treasure hunt !!

i think that's one of the things i love most about the old web + the ability to customize everything your way !
( for example, i had so much fun customizing my profile in here .. i'm really happy about it )
there are always more little corners to discover and plenty of room for creativity.

i'm looking forward to meeting new people, discovering new places of the web, and sharing some of my own ideas with you all.

thank you for having me, may something lovely find you today

[anotherautumn]

Hello everybodayyy!!!
I'm Autumn, and while I'm not "new" here, I figured I'd re-introduce myself since it's been a little while since I've been consistently on here (and even then, it was just a little bit haha)
My senior year of art school just started and I'm really hoping to use that as a motivator to enrich my life with lots of cool, indie stuff such as Melonland, but it might end up being just as much an interruption with how hard they work us here! (which is great, I love it).
But yes!! I'm looking forward to talking to y'all more, and sharing our love of art and worlds and the web! ;) Apologies if I'm not consistent on here, but I truly vibe with everything here and I'm so excited to contribute.

[DrakoTheDragon]

Oop- I should've made this my first forum post. Whoopsies!

Anyways, hey! I'm Drako, and my profile (and user) kinda give away my two big interests lol.
I'm a current college student who's learning software development. And online, I'm an amateur artist, writer, and professional angst-giver for all of my OCs. None shall be spared./silly

My only real experience with forums is with both School of Dragons (rip sod  ) and Flight Rising. So I'll probably just lurk and see what others have to say before making a ton of new replies :)

[yuna2k]

Hey! I'm yuna2k, an illustrator and comic artist from Chile.
I'm currently working on MVNDY,
a comic about techno, dissidences and the dichotomy between good and evil...
or about techno, dreams and other dimensions.
I'm also into japanese architecture, music and anime/manga.
Happy to be here!

[nek0news]

Hai everyone!! I'm NEK0NEWS, you can call me Neko/kiyoshi/Lizbeth!
I am very interested in creating animation, furry art and designing ocs ^_^
I'm currently in uni, and might be busy most of the time. I'm pretty sure I'm too shy to talk to other people, but if you reached out to me I'll answer.(If I do see it)

I just opened this account so it may look empty at the moment. I'll try and decorate it a bit n call it a night >:3

I wish you all a good day/night!!
