I was giving myself lots of pressure to join, but here I am. I love the philosophy and vibe of MelonLand! I like lots of things, not always creative ones but I do a fair share of crafting and webcrafting.

hey guys! its great to be here! my name is hero, i go by he/him. i was looking for something to pass the time slash relax with during my upcoming junior year, and i found this forum! i like internet forums, ive always thought theyre quite fun.

i like writing, drawing, coding, exploring my city, supporting my hockey team (go torrents! go krakens! etc), reading both books and fanfiction, and generally being a huge yapper. to answer the idea questions: my favourite html tag is the audio tag. i like how easy it is to use. i do have a site, and you can find it here! my favorite thing about making things is the satisfaction of seeing a long project come to a close. i havent decorated my online room yet, as im currently on my phone, but i have decorated my irl room with photos of my favorite fictional characters.

Hello internet! I'm Swirly (or Swirlz idc). I'm a digital artist and oc/story creator, I also sometimes do other stuff but my main thing is art. Though for any big projects I'm working on I'm currently in the works on a visual novel and a website-based unfiction project thats sort of fits that genre of "that game I found". Though both are very early in their development, as in I'm still working on the scripts for both.

I'm also into video games, especially ones that are lesser known or ones that aren't as popular as they used to be, I'm also into other things surrounding video games such as cut content, development, bootlegs, cancelled games, hoaxs and rumors, and consoles (mainly lesser known, bootlegged, or obscure ones)

Hello everywun!

I go by Satisfire (or sometimes Leopatra). Leo sun, gemini asc, scorpio moon (very, very important), virgo mercury, so I'm no chocolate cookie to take lightly. :D

I like reading, languages (the ones I learned to the fluentest are English, Chinese and French, and many other ones I haven't been using in a looong time), ASMR, anything goth lately, plus cooking (i've been doing that A LOT lately - moving to south France turned out to be constructive for my culinary fiddlings)

I am a hopeless 10.000-things-at-once kinda person, but I'm working on it. I found this forum because I have a project of researching all types of internet communities (mostly pre-2010 phpBB forums) and their internal cultures, how they developed, what were their inside jokes, specific but unspoken cultural rules they followed etc., in general social dynamics in online communities before big tech pharma took over the internet. So I got here by accident and got interested by the time-stamps as "winter night" and somebody saying that going on other social media makes them feel worse while going here makes them feel better: we'll see! :D

I might be hated here because not only do I embrace AI with no scruples in creating my art/projects, but also participate in the crypto/NFT space, which might probably make somebody go 'why are you even here?'. Well, here's the thing: I am very much for what is happening in the indie/alt web space, but I do have a feeling that many of the websites created so are... Nostalgic artifacts? If that makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I'm all here for nostalgia, but I think I want to create things that are marrying today's technology with the early-web's social sensitivity.

I'm not coming into it blindly: I hate A.I. slop and crypto-shills just as much as the next person, but I do think there's place for healthy usage of LLMs (idea generation, sorting, refining etc.) as well as crypto (I kiiinda find it suspicious that everyone's univocally enamored by the nostalgic feel of Frutiger Aero while it was the most corporate thing ever), which I'll probably get a lot of hate for (it's one of those things you either love or hate). I was instructed to not promote myself, which is a very broad statement and I'm probably not gonna comply (; _;) bbuut I also highly, highly doubt that anyone here is into crypto, so there's nothing to gain for me 'financially' from it anyway, and I think I registered here more to see what's up in this part of the internet and see how others are looking at the social aspect of the web revival movement (also I think I'd like to share my things here sometimes because I seem to have developed a gargantuan anxiety around putting stuff out that isn't quote on quote perfect, which, yknow, ends up in never putting out anything).
