How did you come up with your username? Why did you choose it?

My birthday is in July and I used a random adjective generator to put with "July" and got "Lonely."

I'm not lonely at all, actually. I guess I just liked how both words ended in "-ly" and it paired well with my love for space; and space is lonely

My user is made up pretty much. But still represents things I like in a way. There was no very deep reason behind my name other than that I didn't wanted something generic (it helps with Google results as well but I wasn't thinking of the back then) sky = sky and Kristal = crystal. I love crystals. Sky fels light and free, so I guess that's why I picked what I picked.

When I was a kid, I made up a list of fake books by fake authors, and one of the author names was Daryl Sun. For some reason, that name stuck to my brain, so when I chose a pseudonym (because a book convinced me that all published authors had pseudonyms), I chose that one. I began using that pseudonym as my username online as well, and the rest is history.

on the forum my username is starlitprimrose, which is a variant of usernames i use on a lot of different sites. Primrose, because prim is the name i prefer to go by online, and then i pick what i think is a pretty word to go before that, ex: starlit-primrose, lavalit-primrose, ethereal-primrose, etc.

My main username that i usually use is iomalle, which took me a while to come up with but is ultimately a combination of io (one of jupiters moons) and mall (the title of my favorite minecraft music disc) with an e added at the end for fanciness 

i went through a lot of usernames in the past 3 years because i could never settle on one that really called out to me  but im pretty happy with the ones im usually right now

it's the name of a moondisc track in the game moon. I, uh, ended up really connecting to that game, as well as the track and just... ended up using this name most places. a shame I couldn't have it on last.fm. or Discord now.

i've had like a million online usernames in the time ive been on the internet this ones kinda recent (maybe a year or two?). i got inspo from an artist called sinnikitt or something like that and i was like i need a better name. i had a couple that were like bugeaten or nauseilk and ended up with bugfeli. i just kinda mashed words together, bug is obviously bug and feli is a shortened word that translates to trachea in another language (can't remember which). although i switch between feli standing for that or just feline, you never know

so i was playing this game i bought and at the start of the campaign it asked you the name of your character, except instead of a normal keyboard you had to put together pieces of words and names. so i came up with roberunco
and thats what i used online, had to make it shorter so it just became rob64bits over time

My teacher in class said "you clearly have an absent mind" and I thought "tbh that'd be a cool username" and I've used it every since! circa 2012, What I was known as before shall remain a mystery

my melonland username is from a head automatica song called beating heart baby, i just made hearts plural lol.

i use different names on everything. whatever username i use is honestly just based off of something i see at my desk or something i'm obsessed with at the time i make it. so for example, i have a lot of accounts with fallout related usernames haha.

sometimes i kind of wish i had a name that i use for everything, but i like coming up with different usernames too much to stick to one handle.

PainterFight, the username I often use on most sites and forums, actually came from a Wikihow article of all things! It's coincidentally about making a new username too.

I wanted to get a techy username but thought that "admin", "root" or "webmaster" were inappropriate, so I went for the usual path to a home directory on GNU systems instead. I was surprised it allowed the slashes.

I chose mine because I really like Homestuck, and Nepeta is my favourite character! She's so silly and I see myself in her :-P It might not be the most creative username, but I'm glad I have it hehehe >:3

sokil (сокіл) is the ukrainian word for falcon. falcons are pretty cool birds, and i just think it's a cool word!
in poetry it can also mean a man celebrated with great courage or beauty. overall it's a nice word

How did you come up with your username? Why did you choose it?

I needed a handle for a chatroom back in the late 1990s and for some reason I had forgotten that Elric of Melniboné's sword was called "Stormbringer", not "Starbreaker". By the time I realized that I had goofed, it was too late. Fortunately I hadn't mentioned Elric in the chatroom.

I kept it because it's also the name of a song from Judas Priest's Sin After Sin album so it's still kinda metal. 🤘

It's also the title of a fiction saga I've been working on since 1996. It owes rather a lot to Final Fantasy and Shin Megami Tensei, heavy metal lyrics, and a lot of obscure sf and fantasy from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.

I was gonna made a monster horror themed site I might was well just named it after a movie genre simple.

Of course a lot of people keeping asking me if I named it after the band. while I´ve heard of them and enjoy their music, its not named after them .it´s more like we both were inspired by the same source.
